My updated tier list... Based on the beta, I'm pretty sure Kirby is going to be in my A tier.

I have 300+ hours on BOTW and I’ll prolly give it another play through before end of 2022 (botw2 release).

I’ve done previous play throughs without UI and it was fun. Next time I’ll do a play through without map menu + fast traveling. Gonna focus solely on paying attention to landmarks to navigate around.

That's definitely money well spent Have you 100%'ed BotW, with all the korok seeds and everything?

On a different note: If anyone likes the Ori games, then they'll probably like Imp of the Sun too

Yeah, I only have 100. The one I got my money's worth is Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I believe I bought it at a discount at $50, played 300+ hours, then sold it back to Gamestop for $20-25 in store credit.

Impressive that you managed to put so many hours in 3 Houses, I can't fathom how you did that. One of the weakest FE games in recent years for me.

I didn’t do 100% solo due to Korok hunting lol. Game became less fun when I had to keep referring to an out of game map to locate the Koroks. Granted I did that with my first play through when finding shrines

It's because I enjoy games like Persona. I ended up doing 3 runs (around 100 hours each) and spending way too much time during the monastery segments.

Damn, disappointing, but XC3 is coming out this year so I'm still content.

Also nice new haircut, Aonuma.

I could joke that Nintendo is letting all the buzz from Elden Ring quiet down, before they release their next open world title. At the very least, I need time to finish ER before I can focus on a BotW2, so this isn't the biggest disappointment ever. I'd say, in many regards, this is a perfectly fine time to delay the game a little bit. I don't usually mind delays in general anyway, if they're taking the time to get things as right as possible then I think they should be able to do that. But I think between Elden Ring soaking up a ton of people's time for the next many months, and Nintendo having quite a strong lineup anyway, they're A-OK.

Yeah, I have a combination of games I bought but haven't played yet (SMT5, YS9), games I'm planning to buy (Pokemon Arceus, Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi) and games I'm looking forward to (Soul Hackers 2, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim). That isn't anywhere close to an exhaustive list, just examples. I'm thinking of replaying a few games too. Not lacking for games to play the rest of the year this year. BotW2 can definitely wait until next year.

Though I heard Elden Ring is roughly 80-100 hours long for people who do almost everything in the game. That seems pretty standard for a JRPG completionist run.

Not to derail too much since it isn't a Switch game, but my first playthrough just clocked in at 150 hours, and there are multiple endings to explore and builds to try, so it's pretty chonky for people who want to do everything there is to do. Considering my work schedule, it'll take a few months for me to see almost everything.

If it is in any way like the Dark Souls games, then any future runs will take only a fraction of the time the first playthrough takes.

Even my SL1 DS1 run took less time then my first playthrough of that game.

It's worse in Elden Ring. When you first meet the first boss, you're level ~15, when you meet him on NG+, you're level ~150 with maxed out weapons, flasks, summons, etc.
Meanwhile the poor guy only gets a 50% buff, gets completely destroyed.

I did a completionist first run where I beat all bosses (using fextralife maps) and farmed all achievements, then blasted two NG+ runs for the final achievements, took 60 hours total.

I don't mean NG+, i meant starting a new character from scratch to try another build.

Well, to pull this back to Switch games a bit (my apologies), I spent significantly more time on my second and third plays of Breath of the Wild, just coming to appreciate exactly how much stuff is built into that world was such a joy. Hoping its sequel will be a similarly slow burn when we get it, should be worth the wait.

I'm also holding off on Kirby for the moment? I've been following it excitedly for a while, but given the game actually seems to be mostly linear despite its appearances I'm gonna wait and see if it's a must-play regardless. It's also apparently not a challenging game, so I'll have to manage my expectations if I go for it. I'd be happy if folks here have given it a play and can chime in on that.

I'm really enjoying Kirby You're right that it's pretty linear and not extremely difficult, but there are a lot of objectives (many hidden) in each level, so there's a lot to explore. Also, if you want additional challenges, try to complete the Treasure Road time trials within the Target Time... Some are pretty tough!

Some stupid automatic update on the Switch deleted my Kirby data. I had spent so much time playing through that game, slowly but surely 100%ing every level, but now all my progress is gone. I'm not going to be replaying the entire game just to finish it. Really pissed.

Also bought Chrono Cross, because I loved Chrono Trigger but never played Chrono Cross. With the exception of the music, I dislike pretty much everything about CC on Switch. I probably would have appreciated it back in 1999, but I'm astonished at how... bad... this game is x.x If you loved playing CC back in the day, you'll probably enjoy it on Switch too, but if you've never played it, I don't recommend you start now.

That sucks to hear, DPB. Something like that never happened to me on switch before. Just on steam when I wanted to continue my play through of Alice Madness Returns but it didn’t sync about 20 hours worth. I didn’t touch the game since
