I’ve done previous play throughs without UI and it was fun. Next time I’ll do a play through without map menu + fast traveling. Gonna focus solely on paying attention to landmarks to navigate around.

That's definitely money well spent Have you 100%'ed BotW, with all the korok seeds and everything? On a different note: If anyone likes the Ori games, then they'll probably like Imp of the Sun too

Game became less fun when I had to keep referring to an out of game map to locate the Koroks. Granted I did that with my first play through when finding shrines

It's because I enjoy games like Persona. I ended up doing 3 runs (around 100 hours each) and spending way too much time during the monastery segments.

Though I heard Elden Ring is roughly 80-100 hours long for people who do almost everything in the game. That seems pretty standard for a JRPG completionist run.

That isn't anywhere close to an exhaustive list, just examples. I'm thinking of replaying a few games too. Not lacking for games to play the rest of the year this year. BotW2 can definitely wait until next year. Though I heard Elden Ring is roughly 80-100 hours long for people who do almost everything in the game. Not to derail too much since it isn't a Switch game, but my first playthrough just clocked in at 150 hours, and there are multiple endings to explore and builds to try, so it's pretty chonky for people who want to do everything there is to do. Considering my work schedule, it'll take a few months for me to see almost everything.

If it is in any way like the Dark Souls games, then any future runs will take only a fraction of the time the first playthrough takes. Even my SL1 DS1 run took less time then my first playthrough of that game.

Meanwhile the poor guy only gets a 50% buff, gets completely destroyed. I did a completionist first run where I beat all bosses (using fextralife maps) and farmed all achievements, then blasted two NG+ runs for the final achievements, took 60 hours total.

I'm also holding off on Kirby for the moment? I've been following it excitedly for a while, but given the game actually seems to be mostly linear despite its appearances I'm gonna wait and see if it's a must-play regardless. It's also apparently not a challenging game, so I'll have to manage my expectations if I go for it. I'd be happy if folks here have given it a play and can chime in on that.

Hoping its sequel will be a similarly slow burn when we get it, should be worth the wait. I'm also holding off on Kirby for the moment? I'm really enjoying Kirby You're right that it's pretty linear and not extremely difficult, but there are a lot of objectives (many hidden) in each level, so there's a lot to explore. Also, if you want additional challenges, try to complete the Treasure Road time trials within the Target Time... Some are pretty tough!

Also bought Chrono Cross, because I loved Chrono Trigger but never played Chrono Cross. With the exception of the music, I dislike pretty much everything about CC on Switch. I probably would have appreciated it back in 1999, but I'm astonished at how... bad... this game is x.x If you loved playing CC back in the day, you'll probably enjoy it on Switch too, but if you've never played it, I don't recommend you start now.
