Mario Strikers looks good. The 4v4 would be fun as couch party gameplay but the online for that seems like a nightmare. Nintendo doing dedicated servers needs to happen.

I wish Nintendo would do more DLC, free or paid tbh.

Mario Odyssey and BoTW are so rock solid as base games go, the former could really do with a bunch of challenging/speed run friendly levels

The platforming mechanics are just so damn good, you could cram level packs at it to satiate people, especially as for despite how great it was my main criticism of Odyssey was it was a bit easy.

Honestly in general IF there’s a great base game I’d prefer the industry just expanded on that content, have the same player base all in the same ecosystem.

They haven’t nailed it yet, I suspect they were pushed to launch early but Halo Infinite’s base mechanics are great. More maps, more modes, more general content please but keep it in Infinite

Have a feeling that foreseeable future Nintendo will be investing heavily in the aspect games being able to played via Cloud. For example I can't see No Man's Sky being able to handle without the Cloud aspect. Like all 3 KH games.

Still not giving a clear yes or no on Splatoon 3 splitscreen. I guess a new Strikers will be alright for local multiplayer instead.

Just bought the huge Kingdom Hearts bundle (cloud/internet play only). Never played Kingdom Hearts before. Looks great. Love Disney. Love Nintendo. Love Square Enix. Played for 15 minutes, got excited to see Tidus and Wakka from FFX, took a quick break, came back to see that the game closed because of something-something-error (my internet was working fine). Game doesn't seem to be working or saving reliably. Maybe I'll try one or two more times some other day. Quite possibly just wasted a ton of money. Also, worst-numbered game titles of all time.

Edit: Just looked up reviews on YouTube, and almost all of them are basically saying to not bother buying the bundle / there are a crazy number of errors and issues and bugs that need to be fixed before it's seriously playable. Whoops.

Yeah, this was my first experience with a cloud game, which I bought because my wife absolutely loved playing the KH franchise when she was younger. Maybe things will get fixed, but I'll definitely be more cautious when buying them in the future.

Been playing the Triangle Strategy demo. I played the earlier demo last year, and had mixed feelings, and I'm still having mixed feelings about the game. I love the Tactical RPG genre, so I had figured this was going to be an easy sell to me. I like the artwork and music and environments, but I don't like the way the story and characters are being introduced. Throwing a hundred arbitrary names and titles and locations all at once is extremely overwhelming, and I can't remember or care about any particular person when there's such a focus on quantity over quality. There's also something off about the combat system, for me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's certain mechanics or the UI, but I'm not sure. I'll have to think more about the game before buying it... After the full game has been released, I'll probably wait a week and watch some reviews, before making a decision.

Just started playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on the Switch... I've never played it before. I really like the graphics and music, I'm already noticing tons of references to other Zelda games, and it's surprisingly humorous. But... what the fuck is with the controls? This is a 3D game, but I need to press/hold multiple buttons/joysticks to move the camera? And multiple buttons to do a simple roll? Is there a way to rebind the controller buttons or something, because I don't think I've ever played a video game with such unnecessarily complicated button combinations for such simple, mandatory, you-need-to-do-this-all-the-time tasks, especially when there are so many unused buttons / easier reconfigurations. Please tell me I'm missing something here, or that the controls somehow get fixed after a few hours into the game.

Edit: I learned that the controls were apparently a poor attempt at mapping motion controls onto the regular controller. Yikes.

That game originally came out on the Wii. It's a strange decision to make it mimic the Wii's controller instead of giving it normal console game controls.
