Remember that tree in the background of the open world in sword/shield lol. On the one hand I understand the ppl who give Gamefreak shit for this and expect more, but I personally don't care about getting PS5 graphics in my Pokemon games. As long as the gameplay is fine I'm happy. | ||

You're probably thinking about Pokemon Legends: Arceus? That game came out early this year and was met with moderate criticism for not fully delivering on the promise of open-world (it wasn't so much a promise as a community extrapolation based on early advertising) as well as issues with the graphics). These were announced a couple of months ago or so, I believe. | ||

There's endless mean BS you can lose to, but when you can pull it off and either deflect all the crap that is thrown at you or successfully ruin the match for the other player by doing some nasty BS yourself, it's very satisfying. | ||

Now 3 years later I've finally gotten back to it and completed the game, and damn it's really good! Some classic over-the-top Japanese bits but otherwise solid, recommend. Mainly for the attention of DPB because somehow this game didn't make his list of ~100 switch games he's played yet. Next up is Octopath Traveler which has been lying in my closet for even longer, didn't really click the first time I played it, time to give it another chance. | ||
