As for singles.. I am as big a Mango fanboy as anyone, but I think Armada is gonna take this one. Mango's complacency after Evo is pretty obvious, so I don't see him taking down a hungry Armada. I'm no HungryBox fan, but after his amazing play at Evo, it would be hype to see him have another spectacular run. Who knows what will happen between him and Armada this time.
Mango drops to someone (Hax?) and gets 5th or worse. Sadface.
After dominating SoCal for weeks, Lucky gets 13th
MacD gets 9th again. Nobody notices.
For all this talk of SoCal being the best region in the world, the highest placing Cali rep is Shroomed at 7th
Leffen arrives, immediately experiencing cold hands due to unfamiliar climate, drops his controller and has to get a new one, and gets sick. He tweets about it, then gets involved in another Twitter spat with Armada
With wobbling banned, Nintendude finishes in 25th, distracted by DoH's maniacal laughter
Have armada/m2k ever lost a tourney in teams...? i haven't seen it if its happened... I actually wasn't even that excited for teams but after seeing those predictions, we have some super sik team lineups. should be dope.
as for singles, mango is gonna go all falcon and win no doubt. (all that all-star practice)
I'm no hbox fan either, but I got pretty damn hyped as he took out his demon in armada. I'm rooting for him to win this major if mango doesn't. plus plupbox is pretty hype.
S2J has won like 4 tournaments in the last month in SoCal, so I'm not sure you can say Lucky has been dominating it. Also, without S2J and Fly, SoCal isn't looking nearly as strong at big house.
I think the rest of his predictions are gonna be spot on. I wonder if we'll get to see Mango's alts in singles--after what Armada did to his Fox, I think we might finally see a game out of his Falcon.
I would be eternally happy if Darkrain won the tournament. Realistically though, I'd say he has guaranteed top 16, and a decent chance of making top 8. Projected finish: 8th.
Nintendude had his best performance at a large regional / national at the last Big House (which also had wobbling banned), so don't count him out just yet!
That being said he'll probably end up like 13th or 17th because the competition is so damn strong.
Predictions: 1. Armada 2. Mango 3. Hbox 4. M2K 5. Plup!!, Hax 7. Axe, Leffen 9. Shroomed, Zhu, Lucky, S2J he's not going SCREW IT I pick HugS

He's definitely not guaranteed top 16. Mango, HBox, ColBol, Zhu, KK, Leffen, Hax, SFAT, Axe, Armada, M2K, Shroomed, Plup, Westballz are all heavy favorites over him.
Abate, Nintendude, Cactuar, DarkAtma, HMW, HugS, Bladewise, Darrell, Wizzrobe, and like 10 other players could take him down as well. I will make it my goal to play Darkrain this tournament. I wet myself watching that Falcon for years gawddamn
I hope we get a lot of matches of Darrell on stream. he has the most entertaining samus by far.
Also, after Leffen's twitter rant yesterday i'm hoping he shows up big just to silence all of the people doubting him. it'd be pretty hilarious if he won.
Double post here, but I think it's important enough to warrant its own post.
Can anyone figure out how we can get this tournament on the sidebar on TL? I ask this instead of submitting the event because there are multiple streams over 2 days. If we could get all of THIS http://www.umsmash.com/schedule/#streamschedule in the sidebar, that would be amazing.

You gotta have faith man . You're right though, I just wasn't aware of how insanely stacked this tournament is going to be.
I think you need to submit the event, but you can have multiple streams under the same event.
If you want multiple events, you could submit multiple events.
Well, I couldn't figure out how to do that, so I submitted it with only VGBC. If anyone can help the sidestreams get some love, please do so.
At least on LiquidDota, the other streams can only be attached when the event is actually active. You'll have to ask someone with calendar rights on TL proper to add on the streams.
Yeah I forgot where I saw that yesterday, but I cracked-up, at the same time kind of awkwardly proud of that, too. It's embarrassing that it's gotta be enforced, but I'm glad it is.
So in Winners, we have 6 Foxes, 3 Sheiks, and 1 each of Falco, Puff, Marth, Peach, ICs, Pikachu, and Samus. In Losers, we have 4 Peaches, 3 Foxes, 3 Falcos, 3 Falcons, 1 Marth, 1 Samus, 1 Luigi.
So did either of LiquidSmash attend this? Because I watched a couple of hours of the pools yesterday (which was bloody wicked, btw) but didn't see or hear them. I know they aren't top contenders, sadly, but as a SC-fan who got into this through TeamLiquid showing The Smash Brothers I was hoping to catch them if possible. I take it if they were in they aren't anymore.

Neither of them attended. In fact I noticed that KDJ was streaming smash 4 during the event.

Yeah, Axe is usually really good about recovery and edge-guarding himself, but he was really hesitant or just straight-up read and abused in both regards against Colbol. Glad he pulled through, though; was really disappointed that he lost to Colbol last tourney.
Really damn impressed with how Lucky stepped-up. Was hoping he beat Mang0 -- so fucking close. Glad Leffen is doing well, though. Great seeing the "Gods" get toppled.

Nope!
With wobbling banned, Nintendude finishes in 25th, distracted by DoH's maniacal laughter - kinda. he got 17th

Lucky got 5th if you exclude Mango, ahead of Westballz.
one of the best tournaments ever. Armada's play was a bit questionable even in most of the sets he won, pretty disappointed in his showing. Others played great, especially M2K probably played better than ever. Mango sometimes played very poorly and other times very well, especially well when his back was against the wall as usual. There were next to no boring sets, the only one I can really remember was that one Fox ditto with Kels and the hungrybox vs ics set but even those weren't that awful. Hungrybox getting eliminated early sure does make for some good matches.

Mang0 had to put his serious pants on against Lucky, and from there it was all final form.
