Havent played WoW for a good 1-2 years. So Ive just been watching streams to get an idea of how LFR works. And I must admit, it looks really fun. I mean, Im definitely past that age where I can freely adjust my schedule around strict raiding times, so this is the next best thing for me. Obviously it wont be the same experience as "hardcore" or real raiding, but at least I wont be sitting in Thunder Bluff looking at my guild roster while they do a 25man raid and wonder what its like. This way I can get a pseudo feel for the content, at least.

I think this was enough to win me over to give WoD a legit shot.

That's gonna last the initial run only I'm afraid, or the next few ones. However if you can put in even few odd hours (and you have to if you wanna do LFR this late to the raid cycle where LFRs take considerable longer) you might just as well do few wings of flex with your buddies. And in WoD, normal difficulty will be flexible as well so you could just hop in with your buddies for few bosses.

Is there still a way to get back into the game for free for 7 days like there used to be?

The reason being that I don't know if Cata / MoP / WoD would run on my computer and I wanted to give it a go before I bought WoD in December only to realise my computer doesn't handle it.

They offer free "Starter accounts" which allow play up to level 20 with some social and mailing features disabled to prevent abuse. No time limit.

Scroll of Resurrection was removed so no, outside of the starter edition trial there is no way to test.

You could use the PTR couldn't you? I've been able to use it (with premade 90s) even not having bought MoP.

You're right, that would probably work. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that there will be a PTR before WoD comes out.

For people who don't know if you log into a character before September 30th your account will be flagged to receive the Horde chopper when WoD is released. Nothing is known about what they are going to do with the Alliance chopper though but its good to at least get one

Only your Horde characters will be able to ride the Horde chopper.

I'm at level 73 with my warrior now, and sick of leveling. Is there any other way than questing and dungeons? Is PvP fast?

I hear the Chinese will powerlevel your character for a small fee.

E: also, if you're 73 you already did the hard part and made it through Outlands. Wrath was pretty fun to level through, and Cata and MoP are better still.

AV is pretty fast, or at least it was the last time I checked. Problem is that the queues are always going to be long enough to prevent PvP as a primary leveling source.

Questing is pretty painless. You can power level through questing up to 90 very quickly these days.

I honestly don't care at all about whether or not I get a beta invite for WoW. I've played WOW since the Vanilla beta which is the only beta for WoW I've ever been invited to. Over the 9-10 years of playing I've come to realize after wanting a beta of various expansions that they aren't everything they are cracked up to be. Point is why waste all that time playing a beta for an expansion and just do everything that the beta has to offer and when the game launches it loses its touch, that spark of "ooooh this is AWESOME!" when you play through because you've already seen it already and done it while on the beta. Sure, there may be some changes here and there but nothing so signifcant that it makes the point not true.

Besides, I've sunked in 9-10 years of 14-15 dollars a month and I'm just gonna continue to do so when WoD releases so whats the harm in subbing for a month just to get a cool bike :D

Not true I got beta access a while ago when they did the big hc garrosh invite wave (killed him before I quit). An active account has never been needed to get beta access.

You do not need an active account to be eligible for beta.

Logged in for the first time in many months, remembered you can cross server normal now, and then promptly got my normal BOA off a one shot Garrosh group.
