Hmm so I have been trying to find a game for a long time.
I don't remember a whole heap of details, but it's very much like final fantasy tactics (so grid based combat) but in a post apocalyptic setting....or something like that. It was on PC. Weapons in the game mostly include real weapons, grenades, guns, rocket launchers, and....possibly also a few close range weapons, especially early on. Some of the enemies were humans (maybe gangs, or army, or something), and some were mutated creatures. May have been related to Russia or Russians or something like that. I don't think you have many characters. And the last boss was a pushover, more or less, being just another human, who might have been super strong...not sure.
EDIT: Played this maybe 9 or 10 years ago

I never played the original Fallout so I have no idea, but that sounds kind of like what I would imagine it to be like.

Had a quick look, and no, whilst it looks slightly similar, it isn't Fallout 1. It is much more like Final Fantasy Tactics in that combat is tile based. Also, from what I recall, it wasn't futureesque post-apocalyptic, but seemingly more like present post-apocalyptic. It was also possibly all based in one city, and not a large one. Not even sure there was anything other than one tile based fight to the next.. :S

I'll contribute some random personal nostalgia. Most are well known but whatev "We'll be cut to pieces!" played so much Lords of the Realm (2) back in the day My brother and I still play regularly. We've sortof become quite good at using all the exploits :D We have just one rule: no scorched earth policy. It's such a great game.
I still play sometimes with my Brother and Dad. I don't know any of the exploits you are talking about though :o but we also had a rule against burning down resources.

There was this really old mariokart-esque racing game on the PC, with animal racers and porcupine throwing. I don't really remember any details about it though (aside from the porcupine throwing). It came on floppy disks and ran on DOS.

I remember playing some game that was somewhat like futuristic ice hockey but with violence, a lot of blood, and very fast paced. It probably isn't that old, since it was in 3d with polygons already and I think you played in 3rd person, too.
Any idea?

When i was 12 years old i got the the broken c64(without sound) from my uncle. I had now idea how to really use it and i could only start a few games but Racing Destruction Set was by far my favourite of them.

Was there ever a good remake/similar game to it that works on PC?

On September 22 2013 11:45 rd wrote: This thread is a really cool idea. I have two games to identify if anyone could help:
The first game I'm 80% sure was from the SNES. You played some guy that could transform into a pool of slime, and the goal of the game was to haunt and scare the crap out of some family living in a house by sneaking around. Every now and then you'd fall through a crack or something? and would have to do some mini-game collecting slime.
The other game I think was snes too, but I can vaguely recall any of the details about it. All I remember is that you played some abstract, cartoonish alien character, and were on the moon or somewhere in space pushing around a shopping cart, and either you threw tomatoes, or other things in space threw tomatoes at you. It was kinda sandboxy. That second one sounds like Toejam and Earl
