Paywall for F2P titles seems dumb, other than that nothing particularly shocking. Good news for Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia fans.
Edit (on F2P paywall):
The main idea of F2P, being the ability to play a more or less complete game without prior financial commitment, becomes nonsensical, if put behind a service paywall. However, not having a required paid subscription to play F2P games makes Xbox Live Gold membership somewhat obsolete. Some of the more popular games are free to play, planety of promising free to play games are in development. IMO, a lot of gamers will be perfectly happу playing only free to play and single player games, without having to pay for Xbox Live Gold subscription.

F2P titles that you have to pay to play. Seems legit.

lol you've been jerking yourself off over your PC all thread. We get it. You don't like the Xbox One or Microsoft (despite the pc wat) Your posts aren't contributing anything and you're just another number in the circlejerk.
You know what I'm hyped for? Some Mirrors Edge action. Really excited to see what that game is, how it looks and if they've been given enough creative freedom to do away with the crappy gunplay.

Could mean that they are now fully behind Xbox live not just multiplayer features.

Hey if Xbox live is free then all's good. But from what I'm seeing it's behind Xbox Gold, which is something you have to pay for.

Are you sure you have the right person? I dislike the xbox division of MS and the only thing that MS makes that I like is Windows, and even then it is only Win7 and not 8. I do not like the direction that MS is taking in pretty much any of their products.
Pardon me for not liking the potential spying, pseudo-pc, questionable marketing, questionable business ethics, and overall lack of push for gaming on the console so far. The PS4 (if I get a console) gives me all that I would want from a console without paying for xbox live and having an always on webcam in my living room.
I am glad you like Mirrors edge and that the xbone appears to be the console for you, but it is not for me. I dont use my 360 anymore so realistically me paying for xbox live to use netflix on it is dumb when I can get a PS3 and get some other awesome games and GT6 when it comes out.
Your post is awesome for calling me out on nothing more than stating my opinions though.

Cut him some slack, console users not only have to defend their product from basically every other console user which is basically the same product with different licensing, but they also have to defend themselves from PC users calling them noobs in every one of these threads.
On topic, anything revolutionary about this release aside from potential information gathering that would make google blush?

How is it in the USA or western europe?
Here in Croatia not many people can afford to pay 80$ for every game (keep in mind, thats 10% of the average monthly salary here!) And is 30% over here. It's a huge deal in other parts of the world. With all due respect, but if a video game of 80 EUR/USD costs 30% of someone's monthly pay, that person needs to set his priorities straight. Think for a second how stupid that is to say, that is like saying that somebody who starves in India needs to get his priorities right. It isn't they fault that they get paid less then 1/6 of the salary that they would get for doing the same job in Belgium, it is a result of how the history of they country had unfold. If Belgium would be east from Germany you would be paid much less for doing the same job, how would you set it right, make a time traveling machine? I think he meant he needs to reconsider even buying video games if it costs 30% of his pay, not that he's insulting him based on his wage. Yep, I didn't mean to insult people working for a salary as low as that.

Previously said, MS can't take the GRILL coming out from the media interviews. Can't answer those tough questions heh?
Smart move for damage control to the XBONE brand.
But obviously people are not stupid to realize that.
Seriously though, People buy console to play games. Why must we have all these DRM issues and not being able to play used games.
Isn't that what console used to be about? Plug in and just play any games you bought and share with your friends?
And the DRM issues is even worse than what we heard when it is already bad? Holy what? Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot multiple times.

So they sell a copy of Xbox Fit or Xbox Bowling to everyone, and then never sell anything else again, just like what happened with the Wii. Only the Xbox One will cost way more than the Wii did, so it won't even sell that many of those. The original Wii crushed Xbox 360 and PS3 when you talk about console numbers, it really wasn't even close, so that's why their doing it, it's hard to argue with the numbers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_video_game_consoles_(seventh_generation)#Comparison) . Microsoft wants a piece of that pie The problem with Nintendo numbers is the Wii U was not good enough, I don't know who decided to release the Wii U as is, but it was obviously a misstep, they tried to reach back out to core video game players somewhat with it, and they failed doing so, and the casual wii users did not see enough there to justify buying a new system.' The xboxone kinect is a large enough leap, it should attract people to it, just not sure how many, and I agree, the price point is really important. Yes, the Wii sold lots and lots of consoles, but aside from selling Wii Fit's to old people, it sold basically no games. Nintendo DID report their first quarterly loss after the Wii, that's indisputable.
What are you talking about? Mario Kart wii sold over 30 million copies, that's the second highest selling game ever, then there's the Mario Galaxy games, which are sitting around 16-17 million sold, New Super Mario Bros at 26.92 million, Zelda at around 4-5 million..the list goes on. I could find others if you like, but the Wii made way more profit than Xbox or PS3 did in selling games and as a console. Nintendo reported it's first quarterly loss because
A) They were in development of a new console, RND is pretty expensive and the company is prepared for these losses B) The biggest reason is do to the yen depreciation and C) The 3DS wasn't doing too well at the time either, now it's booming. Probably other reasons too that someone with a better business acumen could go into.
People keep harping about the Wii U "failing", but in reality it's sold just as well if not better than the PS3 and Xbox360 did in their first year and people are a lot more conscious of their wallet with the recession nowadays than they were in 2005/2006. The Wii U is perfectly fine, it's actually innovative and has a lot more power than current generation systems, even though ignorant people tell you otherwise. I could make a huge post about the specs and how they work, but I rather not do that unless someone specifically asks, plus there is plenty of data for it out there anyways.
Gamers are always about "what's going on now" rather than looking at the entire picture, the Wii U will be fine just like the 3DS is after all the doom and gloom it got.

Well, if you're selling your 360 MS gets money from you indirectly (from the person who bought your xbox). You should just let it rot in your home & buy a PS3.

I sincerly doubt they'll make Xbox-live Gold free , there's too many people willingly paying to it currently. Although i never quite understood why it's not a bigger turnoff for people. Playstation Plus is optional support stuff for your console which also lowers the prices on Playstation Store purchases while also proividing at a handful of titles ( Triple A and smaller mixed ) for free monthly if you have Playstation Plus . What exactly does Xbox-live Gold besides stuff that should be and is free on other platfroms ?

That guy is pretty delusional, as the Wii demolished the PS3 and 360 in the console war. They won their generation, hands down.
OT: Yea, MS is kind of a joke at this point. There's a reason I never pay for their PC stuff. They are destroying their own image with this shit and yet they just keep on going, and they've gotten their ass kicked with both generations of their console. I don't see how MS can be so dumb that they do stuff like this when they are the least popular console out there (especially outside the U.S.). Sony just has to lay off the DRM/used games front and they will win this generation without a problem. Now, can Sony be that smart?

Yeah I just saw that webpage and I thought it was some shit from The Onion. But wait...
“The Mountain Dew and Doritos brands are going to reward gamers in the biggest way possible this year with a variety of opportunities to get their hands on the new Xbox One,” said Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb. “We’ll be sharing more details throughout the summer, but rest assured that DEW and Doritos are creating something that is truly befitting of our epic new generation hardware.”
I'm laughing but I don't know if I should. Its kind of surreal that someone in some marketing department would actually do this. They're apparently handing these out at E3 as well, as if we didn't know that the games industry is literally run by children. Nothing to really get angry over but its kind of highlights the target audience is for the Xbox One and its pretty funny given the context surrounding the Xbox One and games journalism. A context where WSJ and Forbes, the bastions of capitalism are attacking the Xbox One harder than the games industry is right now.
