Can you explain to me the difference between me recording a free TV show on my recorder or watching the TV show online for free?
I don't know for you but free-to-air TV doesn't exist in my country. You pay a tax. Sure it's a tax for the year but TV, is NOT free. I pay 180€ tax for TV wich can be converted to a 15€/month almost the same as my internet connection. And i just talk about national television. You pay a tax because you own a TV.
So what are you saying? If everyone pays for it then you essentially own it so do whatever you want with it.

Revolution of consoles...
Maybe one day we will have consoles with everything free-to-play with optional micro transactions. Got to go with the times.
You have to pay for Cable. You don't have to pay to watch a free stream of a TV show. This is significant when you're talking about channels like HBO. Also, when you stream TV shows online, you aren't subject to ads (think of systems like Hulu, that run almost completely on ad revenue).

Not really. My point was TV is not free, so stop comparing something free that is not to anything. Maybe i understood wrong the points that people were trying to make but when you record a show on TV. You paid for it. you did not get it for free. I was just clarifying things for people that are debating (i guess).
Same thing for streaming. You pay it with you ISP. Same is for cable etc...

Cable => Not Free (and Ads) Tv => Not free (And Ads) Streaming => Not free. (And ads)
But maybe it's irrelevant to the debating persons. Sorry if it is.
You know a console will be successful when the discussion topic about it is mostly discussion about TV semantics less than 24 hours after said console was announced.

Well I haven't used cable in forever, I've had digi TV for like 5 years or whatever. It's free with my internet. Cannot comment on cable. Yeah there are ads on most channels but in that case, am I not supposed to be able to download the tv show with ad breaks for free? Hm... Not like it's really that important but it still makes you wonder(or me at least).
Watching the CoD segment and I'm having trouble determining the graphic level. Looks like nothing special and if it's not even in-game graphics that's pretty awful(Comparing to the Diablo III cinematic...). Well, at least there's going to be the Halo live action TV-series for me to enjoy~

Microsoft partners with one of the worst rated customer service cable providers in the country and expects the rest of us to want to give up our superior service? I would never, EVER, pay for Comcast.
My Directv box can:
Record 4 shows at once Set up recordings from web Watch from multiple rooms
Can Xbox One do any of that? No idea, their big premier gave us zero details on any of it.
What does xbox one do: Allow me to get fantasy updates while watching sports ?? ?? ??
All microsoft had to do was show an updated 360 and I was ready to throw my money at them. How in the world they managed to make me reconsider getting the new xbox is beyond me.
Microsoft is on a roll, Win8, XONE. Wonder what's next?

You can't judge that... You don't even know what will be the Xbox One. EVERYONE was shitting on MS when they put up the Xbox live... And it's a success. You can't judge something that is not even out yet...
It's like judging Legacy of the void by the information we have and say : "It's terrible". I thought only french people were like that ! I'm shocked ! (And i'm French :p).
Without the mockery i would say : Wait. See. Try. And then judge.

It's like judging legacy of the void by an official announcement blizzard gives about it.
If they give an official announcement about legacy of the void that is terrible I can bet you anything that people will call it terrible.

you forgot to mention windows 8 RT and surface pro
The other issue is of cost. Please point me to the mid-range gaming PC with voice and gesture control, at least one wireless controller, a catalog of games designed for said controller and an interface designed for the lounge-room that costs less than $400? Because that's the target price for these consoles (I'm sure they'll be dearer for six months or so though).
Not sure if serious... You think you can get a XBOX with all that stuff AND GAMES. PC will always be so much cheaper. The only Games I pay more thant 30$ at Release are Blizzardgames because these just don't get any cheaper anywhere.
And you argue like the XBOX would bring a 100" TV-Screen with it. You just can connect your PC to your TV... GG! If you want to to watch a Movie with your Kids, just use your fucking TV. No need for a XBOX wtf??!?!?

It's like if they announced that with legacy of the void you could also use your pc without alt-tabbing...instead you could speak to it or hand motion. And then people freaked out and said they aren't buying lotv and it sucks because they don't mind alt-tabbing and that the entire game must suck because they gave us the option to not alt-tab.
Quit crying, everyone. The system offers all this extra functionality and all you can do is complain that it somehow ruins the system. Grow up.
