Mann vs. Machine is a new co-operative game for Team Fortress 2 that lets you and five friends wage a desperate battle to stop a lethal horde of robots from deploying a bomb in one of Mann Co.’s many strongholds. Take advantage of breaks between waves to upgrade your abilities and weapons. Survive all the waves in any of a variety of missions to earn incredible loot.
So TF2 has a new update coming out today: Co-op! You can play it with 5 friends and it seems like you need to survive as wave after wave comes to blow you up, with breaks in between. Similar to Tower Defense maps, Left 2 Die (SC2 custom map) and Orcs Must Die etc.
I'm hoping we can use this thread to arrange to play together, discuss strategies/tactics and the mode itself. We now have a Steam group! Post or pm your steam profile url to join it.

lol queue: Pay the $$ or suffer long wait times. join a server hosting it: priceless
Hope you don't actually expect to play unless you drop 100$ on this mode. Otherwise you will be sitting in Qs all day. First thing Valve has fucked up in a long time.

Still valve fucked this up so hard I can't believe they actually are the ones who did it.
Until late last night, most my queues were 20+ minutes. Right now I get about 6-8 minutes. So its come down, but its been less than 24 hours since that happened.

Late last night is when I was Q'ing up using their system and getting 2-5min Q ez on any advanced mission. Don't know why we had such different experiences though.

Sniper bots, along with heavies and giant heavies, make it absolutely necessary to get at least 50% bullet resistance on combat classes (soldier/heavy/etc.) because the nature of hitscan weapons combined with the tracking ability of the AI makes bullet damage unavoidable. If you get 6 players who get bullet resistance and one person to give minicrits, you can clear all waves pretty easily.
So far I've found myself becoming bored with this game-mode pretty fast. I usually just do silly stuff like max out the samurai sword for the demo and stuff like that. The only class that I've really had much fun with is the scout.

Get a Scout in your lineup and make him kill the Snipers, Scouts, Pyros and Medics. Also Scout is practically the tankiest class in the MvM mode (700+ overheals just from gathering money + health on kill) if you play it right. It's also very difficult for Soldier and Demo bots to hit you. I have also found out that I very rarely get hit by Sniper bots unless I move in the same direction and don't jump.
What Scouts do:
1. Gather money 2. Kill Supports 3. Tank a crap ton of damage (It's possible to keep 300+ health consistently + you have insane dodging power)
