That choke was every bit as sad as Sigs the other day. XD

Being a top level speedrunner must suck so bad.

Kewl, they're gonna race again.

Once again Sig is on a great run! He's 40 seconds ahead after Wet Dry World. :D

Some big new glitch(es) found in Wind Waker. Cosmo's been toying with it for the past few days. Fun stuff, exciting new discoveries and hilarity.

This changes everything for WW (one of the big discoveries). Expect to see significant time (really significatn time) come off because of these.

Also, in other speedrunning news (personal news) it seems like I'll get a game at AGDQ 2013 afterall. A DMC3 runner has dropped out and I can run NG+ Vergil so I might be taking over that.

They're also keen on adding L4D 4-Player for the event so I might be doing two games!

Commander Keen 4 is the biggest troll game in existence!

I've gotten my runs down to 11 minutes, but 10:50 (Cosmo) still eludes me. I would have it easily if only the game would stop screwing me every time I get a good run going!

Goddamned slugs. Goddamned pyramids. AND WHY DOESN'T KEEN WEAR BUGSPRAY?

So yeah, I speedrun Commander Keen 4-6 on http://www.twitch.tv/canecraft now and again, if you want to add me to the op. We'll see how long I last before I snap and shove a pogo stick up John Romero's anus.

The TeamLiquid Speedrunning Thread!

Speedrunners from TL
Flicky – 3d Action games (ie. Bayonetta & Devil May Cry), Ape Escape 3 & Left 4 Dead (4-player co-op)
CarlSagan – See above
Freezard – Has current best runs for the Brood War Campaign. Also runs Left 4 Dead with me.
Lee - Runs Fallout 1 & 2, Yoshi’s Island
Raelcun – Supposed to be working on SC2 Brutal campaign.

LOL, okay I just found this thread. Well, it was linked to me. I haven't streamed any progress yet because it would be boring to watch until I've figured out a few more things. I'm working on adapting strategies to make them marathon safe for AGDQ atm. My stream is just http://www.twitch.tv/Raelcun but I haven't actually used it for any of the speedrunning yet.

You should try streaming as often as possible.
I find it very interesting to watch speedrunners trying to figure things out, especially when practicing for a huge marathon such as AGDQ. I for one would definitely watch.

I love speedruns, the ultimate time waster to watch but also to see someone annihilate a game you struggled with as a child is rewarding lol

Been working on my times for Marble Blast Ultra lately, such a great game. Probably going to pick up N+ afterwards.

My times aren't anything special but it is quite enjoyable figuring out the strats for each level on my own and getting as high on the leaderboards as possible.

Funkdoc was doing speed runs on spooky's stream last week and it was pretty awesome. He provides some really good commentary with the game play as well which was really cool.

It's a decent article, the part about speedrunners not liking TAS or the old runs being made on custom versions of the game (or whatever they said) before livestreaming isn't true though, it's an assumption more than anything.

I totally forgot to post about the Kings of Poverty marathon from last weekend with Spooky and Funkdoc. Sorry about that.

For those interested I have started routing a possible 98% FFIX SS run (All key items bar the jump rope / Hippual races)

I probably won't stream anything until I have up to disc 3 routed since the run is like doing a cyclos warp every 30 seconds for roughly 12-16 hours without resets but it does looks like a more interesting category to run over the current Any% route which is going to be done at AGDQ (Freya for esports).

I'll update this when I'm actually attempting runs / find something interesting.

This sounds intriguing but a weird category. I'm guessing you're not going for the Excalibur II for this? Also are you playing on an Emulator or an NTSC PS2?

I'm keen to see how you do. I've done an Excalibur II Perfect Game which was good fun and sounds quite similar.

Also, I'm not sure who TL need to get behind for this next marathon. I need to find out who is actually being used (I like Vivi and Steiner the most). Do you know who the any% actually use?
