And here is the YT video of the run

EDIT: Holy cowboy that puppet gannon fight :O
Bisu[about JD]=I was scared (laughs). The force emanating from his facial expression was so manly that I was even a little jealous.

Demon9 just got the Helmroc skip and is on track to beat Cosmo's record! Still over half of the game to go though, but it's looking good!
Even during difficult times, when I sat down to play the game, there were times where it felt like god has descended down and played [for me].

I'm super hype Cosmo's back to TWW. Were those splits the previous WR? Or his previous PB?

Sub 4:30 looks possible in an amazing run!

If he keeps up he'll be posting a time around Cosmo's. Pretty exciting stuff, really disappointed I have to sleep now though I'm going to miss it! haha. Hopefully this means we'll see another intense WW record battle between the two.

Got my first decent run of Nimbus 100% no scrapyard. No one else is running this but it's a lot of fun. I still have to go through and see where I made mistakes in this run since the entire last 3 worlds of it felt really good while I was playing.

Oh I thought Demon still had the record! Oops! Shows how long it's been since I kept up with the battle (around when Cosmo took a break as well, I suppose...)

Exciting stuff! It's rough AND exciting to see so many red splits and still with a WR run!

Should of seen one of Caracarnvi's FFVIII runs he was something like two and a half minutes down going into the final split and end up almost two minutes ahead of his PB. Splits are kinda like guides to how the run is going. Most runners know their runs and rough spots and where things went badly. Take Plexa's last DD run his first splits were behind even though he was doing faster strats in parts and suddenly the next split he's 15 minutes ahead.

I've been enjoying these. Nimbus is an underrated, fun game, and it's definitely perfect for speed running. More people should play it!

Well other people play Nimbus (it's one of SRL's season 1 games even!) but everyone just does any% (which I also have the record in, see a few pages ago). 100% is lots of fun though and I'd love to see more people pick it up.

Anyone ever tried a scrapyard run?

It's kind of similar to super meat boy which is also in season 1 of SRL, tons and tons of people that play any% but around only 5-6 who are dedicated to some 106% as well. 106% is a pretty damn stressful run though so I can see why it's not widely played.

As far as I know no one has done any all-scrapyard run and I don't think anyone is interested in doing so.

I've not actually finished all the scrapyard levels myself either and probably never will. They're mostly in scrapyard for a reason :p

Me and Ghost have actually stopped using splits for CoM because of how much it swings up and down and how meaningless they are (Also GL tracking map cards / enemy cards / spells / levels within the splits). However I will always use them for 358/2 since it has a very clear mission start - end screen that never changes.

The more I've been running the more I don't like them. CoM it just doesnt make any actual sense since there is so many luck factors, but even in games like FF splits are nice but it doesnt tell the story. Is the split +/- because of good play, a new skip, death, bad luck, good luck, etc. On some games its nice, but as a whole I really dont see splits being good for every game.

That is more because I was hitting my splits late than anything else otherwise your point stands.

Yeah Plexa is still bad at splits. Every time I tune in I have to remind him to split at least once.

I've been playing a lot of Mirror's Edge (360 version) lately, and decided to start doing single segment speedruns. Man is it hard to concentrate at that level for 1 hour. It's so easy to lose focus, miss a jump, lose 1 minute on your time, and then spend the next few minutes too scared to really push hard like you need to.

Lots of fun though, and I reckon I could get my time down from 80 minutes to 70 minutes just by hitting 3 jumps that I missed first time.

Now I need to start recording...

If you want to know more about speedrunning Nimbus you should join #nimbus on the SRL IRC.
