For now Cara holds the record and the Aro run should be ignored until I can test everything to make sure its legit (Even though there is still no video proof) When Cara beat Luna's time he basically said no more runs without video. So unless video gets posted we're probably going to keep calling Cara's time the WR. I've poked her about it a couple of times and gotten nothing but the strats most of which don't really make much sense (although some look really interesting I'll admit) Its a drama for another time and I think we all agree on Cara's run being the WR for now. I'm running into my own issues and Rini is laughing at me because it's so similar to the problems that Cara went through. Basically there's a guy who's caused trouble on the SDA forums in the past for being stubborn and wanting to make up his own category definition of 100% RE4 to get a run posted. In the process he pissed of Mike and Carcinogen pretty badly , got a thread locked, took the discussion to another thread got told off, made a new thread and derailed it back to the conversation, then made yet another thread and got it locked again. He's been posting in the Legend of Dragoon thread and every time I quote ANY time he mysteriously has a time 10-20 minutes better but with no proof. No video, no screenshots, no notes, and his internet is "too bad to upload anything because he has a bandwidth cap." He was in the stream chat quoting numbers that sounded fake the entire stream when I was doing my run and basically just waggling his epeen around for attention. The moment that I posted the final time, only after I gave an actual time he gives his full game estimate which is (surprise) 15-30 minutes faster than what I got. The problem comes in that he's been constantly just snap quoting times way better than mine and if you add them all up his run should be an hour+ faster but he's only quoting a final time 15-30 minutes faster. 15-30 minutes is within what I can get with a good run. The kicker is amongst all this, he's been making up bad science to defend why he wants to use Albert (who is slower, and has lower magic defense and generally not safe for a SS run) and still magically has better times using him. When I pointed out specific points in which Albert would actually get him killed he came up with "safe" strategies the next day and is still magically faster. The only "safe strategy" he's posted is to remove the Bandit's Ring and give him a defensive accessory (making Albert even slower) on one of the longer fights in the game which would result in a massive time loss. To make all of this worse he still refuses to explain or share his strategies, publicly. He's offered to add me on Skype to "discuss" things, but since there are 3-4 people involved at this point I want him to post in the thread and he absolutely refuses to do it. So I just have to trust him on face value and when he eventually "beats my time" because there will be no proof. tl;dr This guy is lying through his teeth I have something similar with 358/2 days with a guy claiming to have a time 10 seconds slower than my WR on the hardest difficulty which sucks because even with the SRL leader boards neither of us have proof so I can't call him out on it until my DS gets back for the second time. Speed running drama is fun.
Well, this isn't drama really. You guys should just talk and see where you can take the game. There's no need to compete over something like this. I don't know why you'd want to "call him out", just work together on it. If it becomes obvious that the person didn't run it properly just move on. There's no need to make something of it. That's creating drama where there isn't any.

Its more the guy literally popped out of no where with that time and hasn't actually posted anything since with no real strategies etc. It just seemed like he was trying to get me to run proud mode without actually helping / responding to my messages.
I don't really mind that the time exists since I beat it pretty quickly in my own category I just wish I had cooperation in the game like I do with chain of memories and FF9.

How does disc change work when playing on an emulator?

I just swap the disc file when racing FF9 NTSC there isn't much to it at any rate.

Going to be doing a sub 4:45 attempt for GS1 GS2%. Feel free to watch if you find that kind of thing interesting :3

Got 10:29 in Keen 4. I was about to get the WR before Well of Wishes trolled me with lag and sluggish controls. New PB though. Will work some more on it later today/tomorrow. Taking a break before I uninstall DOSBox.

Damnit Draz I'm now playing through CoM just to see how weird the controls are on an emulator then I may try to run it. Problem is I'm totally blind and cant find half the notes for the route on the SDA post

PM me your SDA user name and I'll add you to the private thread we have going for theory crafting etc
Basically nothing we discuss ends up in the SDA thread because the game is unroutable outside a few certainties

There were definitely some low points of the run (i.e. fusion dragon trolling me - severe blow 11/256 times my ass) but all in all the route looks solid and safe. It's plausible I can push that to under 4:30 with good RNG. I guess this make it the WR for my category, but since no one else runs this category it doesn't matter now its all eyes on GS2 where I can hopefully push my time sub-9:30.

Well just finished CoM after like 8 or 9 hours. I suck that's all I have to say. I died so many times and screwed up on nearly every riku and organization fight. Lets not even mention Jafar Darkside or Hook.....definitely have motivation to get better and improve that time. Probably try again after some sleep and hope RNG decides I don't need only 1-4s on cards.....

If there's one thing I can guarantee you it's that if you took 28 minutes off a run in one improvement, you will crush 4:30. If you really want to make a great run you should watch it back instead of guessing time improvements, don't just go by the time. Don't make the rookie mistake of mis-judging how much time can come off!
If you want to make a brilliant run, you play until happy with the gameplay, not until you're happy with the time.

Thanks for the advice Flicky I've actually talked the run over with a guy who runs Any% and we have about 5-6 minutes of mistakes alone, let alone some rerouting that could be done. Will be refining it after two weeks though =[ only practice until then unfortunately.

Thankfully me and Qxy found tricks to all the world fights (Although everyone disapproves of my Hook strategy because its not safe in a SS run...)
Judgement is just broken on darkside - http://www.twitch.tv/drazerk/c/1786782 (We will ignore the blunder...)
Jafar drops a guaranteed trick card if you cast blizzard at the body - http://www.twitch.tv/drazerk/c/1923751
Hook is kinda iffy due to all zeros, the moving platform and the fact he can do 80 damage in a single attack. Just close your eyes and pray for good raids - http://www.twitch.tv/drazerk/c/1923766
Bonus strategy - http://www.twitch.tv/drazerk/c/1923760 (Maleficent is actually a joke)

I actually knew about that Jafar trick the biggest problem was I only had the 1 Blizzard you start with and it was like 4 or 5 and got broken pretty early on. I think I need to farm a bit more in Traverse for a second or third Blizzard and a few more Keyblades before I leave

Current route requires either 3 blizzard cards or 2 blizzards and a blue nocturne before leaving TT... its sort of why only 1 in 200 runs get past the first split

A Disney card game called Kingdom hearts Chain of Memories (GBA version).
Most of the resetting only happens because I have stupidly good luck everywhere but the final split so I can see people finishing runs if they are willing to stay in Traverse / Olympus longer than I am.
Also thanks

Well I "did" have other blizzards its just they were all like 1-3 so pretty much useless until I got Blizzard Raid. Then I ended up getting like 4 really good Blizzards in like Olympus? Agrabah was the only place I felt really short on cards but I didnt farm much and tried to just power my way through with what I had at that time

Sleights are the names of the game until you get to Olympus the only reason I do Agrabah first is because Jafar is a horrible boss and isn't effected by blizzard raid.
