Hsien's Akuma was one of the best in 3rd Strike. He's a Yun player from Texas, friends with John Choi and Buktooth (two of the American "gods" of fighting games). He's a killer.

For online play, 360 has the most players and is the most stable. PC is also good (too bad the amazon $9.99 deal is done), but 360 is where you'll probably find the most players.

i would say 360, as there's likely to be more people to play online with. however streetfighter online is about the same as trying to play sc2 with a torrent running. also, i'm not too sure about this but i think that 360 is the better option in terms of custom fight stick modding. that's another thing, if you really want to play fighting games the real way, you will do it on an arcade stick. another analogy....playing street fighter with a console controller is like playing sc2 without hotkeys. it can be done, but your maximum potential is very limited. fight sticks are expensive tho, so you would probably not want to invest money on one until you had used one first. if you are interested in fighting games you should go to shoryuken.com and look in the regional forums and depending on your location, you may be able to find a group of people that meet up for games. they will be more than glad to teach you the game and there will probably be enough arcade sticks so that you can get some practice on one. i used to be involved in a community and it was really fun, in a lot of ways more fun than sc2. all the community interaction is done in real life, so you become friends with people rather than arguing with them on the internet about esports drama. i had many a fun and drunk times playing street fighter....

Dieminion's the only American SF player I really like. Feels like rushdown's too strong in this game for him to win though.
