Crafting in this game is a lot different from WoW, it's not comparable at all. And you would miss on quite a bit because you cannot meld materia with it which can mean... 20 less primary stats per item? Of course you can pay for it but it's like the best way to make money, I feel.
Think you should at least try it...
Not to mention best gear in the game is HQ darksteel crafted shit with hidden melds/forbidden materia. Which is costing in upwards of near 1 million without the tomes to buy the supplies yourself.

Got to 50, did the 3 primals, farmed some darklight.... and I'm bored. Tried other classes and crafting but it just didn't help. Was fun while it lasted.

So apparently there's nothing you can do when someone in an instance decides to troll around, can't even kick him. Great design, 10/10 A+++

Just because there is a dutyfinder, doesnt mean you should use it for high end dungeons.
You should find people on your server and play with them, the duty finder is last resort.
If it was lower level....just leave and requeue while questing.
I find the alternative worse...others abusing any kind of kick feature. I have seen enough internet to know what will happen.

No but I mean, with the current system you can basically clear the entire dungeon apart from the last boss and then let's say the tank decides to go afk. Nothing you can do here. You just wasted 30min.

The best is people who have relic and queue garuda/titan just for the sake of getting the party wiped. They also don't leave so if you leave you take the 15 minute penalty for someone else being a douche.

hm ok, but i dont know how to fix it.
if you add votekick, ull have 5 people sitting there kicking everyone for as long as they find it funny.
i think you can report the troll wipers for harrasment, though. I saw a SE guy post it somewhere, but i dont know how effective a few reports will be.

There's also the new patch coming out after a while that has new dungeons and items and such... Interesting if you get bored when you get to the good part ;S

Have to say I dislike very much having to lvl a craft to be able to use materia. I'm just someone who wants to have nothing to do with crafting. I lvld it to 19 and saw that it didnt end there  Oh well what can you do, it's an MMO. I'm sure someone enjoys the more dynamic but definitely longer crafting mechanic.

you dont need a craft to use materia, only to slot it.

Yeah, you can always pay someone a small tip to meld materia for you. It's not an issue if you don't want to do crafting.

Oh man finally killed Titan today. Such an insanely hard fight for a healer. Took me two good solid days of doing Titan with DF till' I finally got him.
The attempt before the kill attempt we literally got him down to 1% before we all just died. Well we all died at around 3% apart from the other tank and the two healers.
Now I can finally relax!

It's not really meant to be run with duty finder. The second tank servers no purpose at all. It's much easier with 1 PLD, 4BRD, 1DRG 1SCH and 1WHM

Does this mean that BRD are the "best" DPS job late game or you/people prefer BRDs against Titan specifically.
I ask because I'm on the MNK path (24 PUG now) and I want to feel good about myself.
Either way, as soon as I get MNK to 50 I'm going straight for Scholar for t3h healz. Maybe sooner (like PUG 50 or something)

why would you say that? sch and sum are both good jobs. they are both fine all the way through coil. pet control sucks, but there are aspects of every class that really suck as well.

Both SCH and SMN are good, with 1 exception being SCH doesn't stack well (2 WHM is much better than 2 SCH/). One thing though is that you have to choose between SCH and SMN unless you take a severe penalty due to stats allocation.
