searching up and down all over the damn coast with our boat that was still safe, an hour or more later we finally got two wheels and fixed it and got it out of there. that van has seen so much shit man, you wouldn't even know.

Farming fresh characters for their bandage and painkillers seems a bit silly indeed. But then again the north can be very boring I geuss.

The game isn't tough enough to survive right now when you're geared, partied, have bases set up and vehicle(s). It's a boredom remedy. Rocket will fix this, it is known.

in 5 hours i have found 1 gun.. which i lost because my game glitched and threw me off ladder .. gay Excellent work on researching the game before you bought it! :D lol i put a lot of research into it, watched videos looked at posts etc.. i cant find any decent posts on the whole in game communication thing, and i didnt expect the game to be as clunky as it is.. games are something you should play, not read a million pages on, they should be intuitive Go thorough the ARMA tutorials and pay attention, they are very important. Then you need to know how to manage inventory, theres a great newbie thread on the DayZ forums. As far as in game communication, press". or ," to switch channels, the only one you can use is Direct communication and it is "/" to type into chat and hold CAPS to speak. It only carries 30 metres ish, and you can tell directions it comes from. Use all the guides and threads linked in the OP, if you have any questions just ask on the TeamSpeak TL server Thanks I feel i have been a bit unjust, after receiving errors i reinstalled the whole thing, and updated the dayz client etc again and i had a good 2 hours last night before bed where i actually got into the game.. found an airfield which sadly had no weapons but i got a hatchet and did kill a few zombies i also went into a town where i herd people shooting so i basically hid until i thought i was safe lol, atmosphere is great i just wish you spawned with more gear 8/10 you dont just end up dieing trying to find a weapon.. I think to play this game you need a MAP up at all times so you can check where your going and what buildings you want to investigate.. edit even using maps which tell me where decent items can be found i still have not found a single decent gun.. checked airfield hangers and all sorts.. am i just unlucky? is there a way of making shit respawn in them so i can pop in and out a few times to make something good spawn for me? You'll find after playing for a long time you don't need a map anymore (all the time), but yeah I had map up all the time when I was just starting out. I think you've just got unlucky, but good spawns are hard to come by sometimes. Try deer-stands, fire stations, hangars and barns, you should find a gun pretty quickly. Its tough going into towns and cities though, takes a lot of practice and a lot of dying lol. Best bet for risk-free weapons are deer-stands, but be careful as snipers do watch them sometimes. However if you just spawned it can definitely be worth it to check out the fire stations or supermarkets in the cities, since you can get a ton of loot and high-end guns, then GTFO. Chances of seeing someone are pretty high, just try to make sure you see them first. This game will make you rage hard, but thats the whole point. Just don't get attached to your shit because you'll cry like a baby when a zombie jumps off a roof onto you and breaks your legs when you have full gear.

Ok so we discovered that a member of our group might be hacking, we got the commander launcher that can track friends on what servers they go to. One guy followed him to another server where he played with another nick. At the exact same spot as our camp on that server there was ammo crates with an SVD+ 10 mags and his old M107 that he now replaced with his new SVD.
He had earlier that day said he found an SVD(the day after we told him it existed and he got really excited about it) when we confronted him about it he ofc denied said he didn't know anything about the hacker camp so we asked how he got the svd, he replied he couldnt remember heli or barracks. So we asked how many mags he got to wich he said 4 wich is the part im curious about since he said at first it was all with the gun. We explained to him that the gun spawns with only 1 mag (Not entirely sure about this but its what we read) he then jumped to the conclussion that he must have found the extra mags in the barracks(ammoboxes spawn svd mags but he never mentioned any ammoboxes).
Other things that were suspicous was that after only a couple of days of playing the game he has found an L85AWS, 2x M4A1 CCO SD, M107, he died several times and always seems to find a ghillisuit shortly afterwards. All these things he has found while not playing with us. He was always very vague about were he found the things it was always "heli or barracks" or "cant remeber". One more thing was that he found a camo suit thats from Arma2 only, in NW airfield.
We are pretty convinced that he his hacking now but were trying to be as sure as possible and the 4mags part is the only thing he admitted. Do you guys know exactly how svd and its mags spawn?

The story of my first kill and the most fun I've had yet with this game.
I had played earlier in the day and was able to run away from some guys who tried to kill me for no reason north of Cherno. After running for a bit I turned and fired my m4 at the one guy still chasing me, I have no idea if I hit him or not but he wasn't chasing me any longer. I holed up in some brush and waited. After 15 minutes or so I was satisfied and headed back to the apartments and got some loot, all was well - I had escaped certain death.
Later that evening my friend wanted to play together so we join the TL server and start heading to cherno since we were close anyway. I warn my friend about my encounter earlier, I should have taken that warning myself. As I crossed the open field BAM BAM BAM I was hit. I took off sprinting east as fast as I could, knowing I was already low on blood. I find a small hill with some brush and dive into it to bandage myself. Ok, I'm alive but with 1k blood and not able to see shit. I navigate my friend to me somehow and get a transfusion. We head off to the north before realizing we need more supplies to really make it going north so we say fuck it and head back to the apartments.
Everything looks relatively quiet, just a few zombies around. Suddenly BAM I'm hit and knocked out, my friend is killed immediately. I lay there cursing myself, 'we should have left, cherno is too active. shit'. My shooter makes an appearance and approaches my body. He doesn't do anything for a few seconds, I am waiting to be executed. I don't know what he was doing but I knew that if I got up alive I had to take the shot. I come to, stand, and face my suspected attempted killer and we stare at each other for what seems like an eternity. I was already hesitating too long, I opened fire until the clip is gone. I take out my g17 and shoot his head for good measure. I grab some supplies and start to head away from the scene. Then, another bandit NOOOOOOOOOO....BAM BAM BAM. It was over, there was no coming back this time. GG

Each life is still a easily taken as before. Geared,Partied, bases, and vehicles are all different variables. Making the game tougher doesn't change the advantages each on of those have over someone freshly spawning in. It might reduce the avg. life but your still at a advantage. Having bases stocked with goodies makes you less stressed about dying because your friend can come pick you up with weapons in tow and get you back on your feet quickly.
I think only way to FIX it cause I can't say its necessarily anything wrong with that style of play. Is to make some missions or something structured in the game that forces higher geared players to go somewhere/risk there lives and stuff in some sort of PvE environment. Which kinda goes against everything the game is right now. Your not forced to really do anything. You can chill in the woods with meds and go hunting pigs and cows living off the land if you want with just a lee einfield or damn hatchet.
I don't go to elektro or cherno unless its for meds. I look for heli sites. I consider myself a heli hunter. I do go to NW airfield more than I like though my thrill is finding the high end weapons at heli sites or in the barracks at NW.
From what I have read Rocket says that PvP is apart of the game and isn't taking it out at all. Anyone complaining about pvp can just go play something else. I don't have the direct links but I can dig them up if need be.
None of those suggestions came from Rocket that you linked it just came from the suggestion forum.
EDIT: After reading it all the way through it doesn't change anything for killing its like assuming all people that are bandits do it solo. The suggested changes force more people to party with complete strangers because you might need others to survive and surviving on your own is easier. Most of the people I know that go around killing in elektro do it in groups with vehicles anyway.
I say fix the bugs leave the game how it is just expand it more for more areas to go to. Geared players hunt other geared players all the time in elektro and at Dobryyy. Just watch Puddn's stream on twitch thats all that dude does and he is really good at it. Right now some one could call himself the police and go protect Elektro from the snipers killing noobs cause thats how he wants to play. I just don't want to see the fun of the game ruined by what people think would make the game great. Then we can Ruin it like people playing MMO's

They were just suggestions on how to make the game tougher.
Forest Zeds, not dropping zombie aggro by D/Cing, not being able to log while bleeding/flashing red with thirst or hunger could all make the entire game a bit more challenging.
I'm not complaining about PvP, I'm just saying that at a certain point, that's what you do since there isn't much else to achieve. I've had 3 or 4 characters live 15+ days, and I always end up going someplace to look for trouble. I've even just respawned.
|
Some guy logging in infront of me today with a m240 sniper a g17... I could help but hack to him to death with my axe, then I went and sat in cherno for a while and couldn't find anyway.
Eventually I gave up and decided to head to electro to find my friends and I found a bike on the way :D. Was having a good time but I couldn't find food anywhere so I rushed to the super market in electro to be shot, run inside go unconscience and die .
Was having such a good run ><.
Also is there any stat tracking for all characters you've played? I'd love to see my total deaths and murders and such.

Those are good suggestions like forest zeds. the d/cing is just a gameplay problem, same with bleeding and logging those are obvious fixes that are coming they really don't have anything to really do with being geared, having vehicles. I can log right now with just a patrol pack and a bandage on me.
I just don't want anything to kill solo players fun. I like to group sometimes I like to run solo most of the time. The group suggestion in that thread assume everyone is on the same level. I can tell playing with another player that somewhat knows how to survive and someone who is good.
I don't like to run a long time with newer players cause they might get me killed to something silly like killing Zombies with a Lee Einfield when someone in your group has a silenced weapon. Going into towns being impatient aggroing zombies all the time wasting ammo. Not saying I won't help them but they are more likely to ALT Tab to look at the map with their weapon pointed at me and shoot me.
Also side not 1.7.2 is released
