fucking YES VETTEL!
Race was amazing.. I can only dream of what could've been if he didn't misjudge Ricciardo. But I can't complain, amazing result and Vettel proved today that he's worthy of his titles and hopefully yet another!
In fact, both drivers are showing what they're made of. I think either one deserves the title this year but I'd prefer it to be Vettel

What I still can not grasp is why RBR thought they wouldn't need to change Vettel's engine. They are known for exploiting every possible bit, as seen with this weekend's gearbox+ratio swap. He's used his 8th engine in Budh and Yas Marina now, with CotA and Interlagos still to come. Using the 9th engine would result in a 10 place grid drop. presumably in Interlagos, then.

OP broke 150000 Bytes! And we're not finished yet, hoping for two exciting races up next. Interested in CotA, but I don't like the slow "2nd-gear-car-park-infield-section"

Then the last safety car hit and he was able to pit and get back into it, very very lucky imo. Oh well a new trip to Texas awaits the next race, cannot wait. in 2000 germany, Barichello only won because of safety car, but it was still hella nice.

Tracks like Monaco, Singapore, Hungary and Abu Dhabi are where the best drivers class shows. High speed stuff is way more reliant on the car. I like the look of Austin, however, I know it will be a Red Bull track and for that reason I see the championship being settled. Unless Renault decide to fit another dodgy alternator

Even without the saftey cars he would've ended up in top 10.
I'm actually surprised that he wasn't quicker after the second SC.

Being able to pit for the 2nd time during the last Safety Car made him be able to finish top 3. Other than that he would of been sat behind Button getting caught by the back markers every lap due to having no tyres left. He was extremely lucky imo, but of course he did come 24-13 wthin like 4 laps at the start pre safety car which was pretty cool. But was lucky to hit top 4 let alone sneak the podeium.

Just caught a replay, fantastic race. What a champ Raikkonen is, and Vettel was none too shabby

Oh yeah i forgot to add to my post.
Kimi...what a fucking boss!!
Lotus Radio Message "Kimi, you have Alonso behind and he is gaining" Kimi Responds "Yes,Yes i know what im doing leave me alone"
Lotus Radio Message "Kimi, you need to re warm up your 4 tyres behind the safety car" Kimi Responds "Yes, yes, yes, yes, i'm doing all the tyres. You don't have to remind me every second"
Haha, then goes on to win the race, such a baws!

Really envious For anyone reading this thread, if you haven't been to a race I highly recommend going. It is amazing the atmosphere of the race weekend. I can't guarantee the experiences I've had but I can guarantee that every race is a fun experience. Save up, travel if you have to, but definitely go and see a race. Some of the races are a lot cheaper than others, I'm lucky with Canada being one of the cheapest, but find a way. you won't regret it.
I get my chance next year when they come to New Jersey. I am almost counting the days. It's a street course so I am expecting some good action to happen. I am getting the full race weekend pass if I can, practice and everything. I missed the chance when RedBull had their air race here, so I am for sure not missing out on this one if I can.

New Jersey is off, sorry to break the bad news.

It's sad to read about it, but I can wait till 2014. Maybe something will turn around before then, I'll keep my hopes up. Meanwhile I hope Austin will show that F1 very much belongs in the USA with strong numbers in attendance and on tv ratings.

The move away from SpeedTV will be very beneficial for F1 in the states.
I have to pay like an extra $20 to get Speed and they don't even show P2 or P3. Sometimes, they won't even show the race at the actual time because of ratings and what not.
Slightly disappointed that CoTA tickets had to be bought through ticketmaster and that other avenues didn't start selling the tickets until 3 weeks later (mehh). :\ Didn't get my top pick of seating because of it, but oh well. I hope for the best in Austin, though logistically on my end it was kind of a nightmare (price gouging at the hotels, yuck).

Yeah nobody really stood out on those young driver test days. I cant see any new drivers other than Gutierrez getting a seat outside the bottom three teams. Bottas too of course deserves the Williams seat but without backing he may lose out. Valsecchi did decent but not enough I feel.

Does anyone have the times from last month's Williams partner days? Word is that Wolff was quicker than the F2 champion Bachetta, wet conditions

F1 is dead if guy starting from #24 can drive all the way to #3.
Well, I guess if not for Alonso's excellence, Vettel would secure his third title in Japan or even earlier. Fernando has only the slimmest chance now, since he has to pretty much finish ahead Vettel both remaining races... but I'm still hoping.
And Hamilton's fails look more and more like a sabotage. Of course, they're not, but it's funny to watch that coincidence.

And you clearly have not seen F1 in the past. 1998 Austria: Coulthard spins on first lap and drives straight to second after schumacher flies off the track. 1999 Austria: Hakkinen gets hit by coulthard and drives straight into third (pace 1 sec faster per lap than anyone else) 2005 Suzuka: Raikkonen from 17th to first 2004 monza: Schumacher spins on first lap and ends up 2 seconds behind leader.
The similarity among all of these things is that the car has been significantly faster than all others.
