And maybe I can get some TeamLiquid.net'ians to become some Glitches
FAQ:
What is Glitch? Glitch is a browser based MMO(RP) game. Because of the "browser based" it's completely in 2D ... hm, maybe 2.5D! It's currently back to Beta (it was beta, then got "gold/live" ... then it got back to beta ).
Beta? How can I play? I have three invites for you. And as I see it, every new player gets these three invites, so we can spread them around! Just send me a PM with your email address!.
What is it all about The usual stuff: Petting pigs, hugging crabs, planking other players, cooking meals and imagining about your life!
??? Basically you just run around the country and do whatever you want! Try to cook better meals, mine more minerals, build a house, etc. Sounds crazy to boring, but it has a minecraft'esque flair that will hook you!
Is there more to the back-story? Yes there is: The world is built by 11 giants, but the world is constantly attacked by "The Rook"! The Rook wants to kill the trees and animals and all the giants created. But we player can fight back by "Martial Imagination"! In the other direction there are project constructing new streets and places to go to. Currently - beta - it's quite on hold, but there is enough to explore! But you will be able to construct the world by yourself!
Ok, bottom line: Why should I play it? The "subtitle" of the game is "A game of giant imagination" (see the Martial Imagination?). So you can imagine your world, as you want it and play like you want to. Besides: Can a game be wrong, if you can get Achievements (yes there are!) like "Thrash Metallurgist", "Trans-Rational Meat Aficionado", "Not-So-Grim Reaper" or "Darwin Award Winner"
Anything else I should know? There are big changes around the corner, where i.e. you will be able to "construct" your house purely in your "imagination" like you want it, the level system will be dropped and the game will evolve more around the players action! Help getting it done right by joining today!
Wait a second: What do I have to pay for that? We are in Beta, but I think the current system is "final": You don't have to pay anything for the game-play. Paying money will allow you to buy new hats, clothes and - maybe most important - if you subscribe, you get "votes", what the developers should do next! (If you don't pay, you get, what you get) There is minimal influence of paying customers to free players. So you don't get a real edge by paying money (but I will not stop you, if you want to!).
At first I got the impression that it was a sandbox type game like Haven & Hearth, but after watching the trailer... looks a bit too cutesy! I'm guessing it's not open pvp with full loot and permadeath?

It reminds me of Little Big World or whatever. Can't say I'm really all that interested. The little song that tries to explain what the game is about just got stuck in my head and I don't like it >
The game is everything and nothing :D Actually I think my description is as far as I can go But nobody could tell me, what minecraft is all about and millions are playing it...
All my invites are out!
Sorry WTFZerg (no email ) and TubbyIsAwesome (too late). Maybe someone that got one will share!
Signed up with my email but knowing my luck probably will not get an invite :p If someone has one please pm me if i get some invites myself will give them away in this thread. Love this sandbox games.
I'm getting the hang of it but need some help! I took cooking, but I can't get hold of most of the ingredients. Where can I turn flour into bread, and where can I get salt from? >.<"

There is no "I took cooking". You can ""focus" on something, but eventually you can learn and do everything! Flour: Squeeze chickens for grain Change grain to flour with "Knife and Board"
Salt: Harvest Spice trees (there are many in Ix) Change them with a "Spice Mill"!
Maybe you need some skills to do so! If you can create the items, you see it in the creation window! You need quite a few items to create everything I have two bags full of stuff just for creating and changing!

Sweet I got as far as Flour and a Frying Pan, just keep getting quests to make all this stuff which I can't yet make!!! I'll have a look for spice trees.
I think it's worth noting who's behind this game, it's the dude that did Katamari. Also when was the last time you heard of a game that was out, people loved it and the creator just went "Nah have your money back we can do this much better lets go back to beta". This game is going to be amazing if they continue developing it.
Kk invites sent. Guys remeber that you get 3 invites yourself after a couple of hours so be sure to give them out too. See you all in game and joint the group so we can talk. I'm having a blast in this game
Quite a few people searching for an invite! I hope we still got some! If not, maybe I could ask some "random" people already playing if they have some left!
BTW I'm JP Bear :p It's not invite only you just apply and I accept. I'm trying to change it to open but I can't find the setting heh. The people I gave invites to should have 3 invites themselves. Give them out people!
So I was playing the game and it's really fun so far. I just don't know what you are supposed to do in the game, is there more than just learning skills, and having fun? I'm not saying that I want more, but is there some kind of thing that I'm supposed to do that I'm missing out on?

There's a couple of things I see people really focus on. 1) Make as much money as you can and use it to buy the private parties and houses etc... 2) Leveling (the most boring thing on this list imo) 3) Collecting items like the little square animals and the music boxes 4) Exploring, specially getting all the ghosts, all the DNA's and getting to all the hidden locations and last the thing I see a lot of people going for and imo one of the funnest things to do is 5) Collect all the badges (aka achievements) wich apparently some are pretty brutal and you need to set-up parties for. Also I love doing quests :p
Look over some of the groups aswell and you will find people doing all kinds of awesome things like for example the Party of the Month Club. Theres also the Sandbox group that come up with crazy player driven events and other groups dedicated to playing the minigames.
From what I understand a huge update is coming wich will bring back what I think will be a major part of the game wich is street upgrades, that was in the game during alpha or something but now is going to be better.
Also this site is great: http://www.glitch-strategy.com/ There you can find tips and stuff on how to do cool things and find out about stuff you might want to do.

Always remember: We are in BETA! In a few weeks some big changes to the whole "universe" are about to hit the glitches! So best to acclimatize a little bit to get a good start in the "new" world!
If anyone gets a spare beta key I'd like one . Thanks in advance! So whats this game like? Hows the combat(if there is any), is the world interesting? I've played to many MMOs that have been, Oh look grass over here, sand over here, and a river over there.
This is a PM LiamTheZerg sent me when asking about the beta (He asked for me to post this on thread as he was busy)
You basically hit it spot on. It's really fun to play when i wanna take a break from Dota2(which is rare) but it's also just chill and the skills are cool. What's also really cool is contrary to most MMO's, you don't have a lot of those pricks that think they're better or flame, so most people are nice. I've had like 3-4 people come up to me and give me free stuff and at the same time, maybe its only for beta but idk, when you start it gives you the option to ask for help from a Dev/Staff member and they're so nice, the guy that helped me is on my f/l and helps me/tells me about future possibilities if i ask for it.
There are mini-games and secret places/easter eggs coded in, so it's really diffierent in that instead of telling you/showing you on the map where all this shit is, you have to find it yourself or stumble upon it. As is typical of the guy who made Katamari, he's made a really unique world that's full of unknowns, which is something i've been looking for forevs. Finally, the skill system while being the same old kinda, is also really unique. It's really nice for people who don't have years to devote to getting a skill to 99(Runescape why?!?!) because it trains while your offline. So for example, i'll queue up Animal Kinship IV, it'll finish while i'm in class, and i can queue up another from their website(on my phone) so it trains while i'm out. If you have any specific questions, ask away, i'll try to answer as best i can
It sounds great for just relaxing! I personally don't feel like playing a game such as Sc2, PoE, or BW sometimes as I just want to take it easy and I end up doing nothing. This game sounds perfect for that.
If anyone has a spare beta key I would love to have it. I really want to try this MMO I feel like I could have a lot of fun with it. Sadly I still haven't been able to play it. So if anyone would be gracious enough to part with a beta key I will love you forever. PM me if you do thanks =).
@Dustin thanks ;D Just got online to check my hw for other classes and this was open. For all those that wonder, it's an awesome game, i just wish i had more invites to give out ;(
