First fight, KO slam!
Also, worst ref ever. 3 clear shots to the back of the head plus he stared at him for a good 3 seconds before stopping the fight. Good ol japanese refs :/

He was probably too exhausted to get up.

I can't imagine why Dream decided to fill the time with this fight.......... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........
Edit: Oh yea that was a cool finish, still.
|
Everyone loves Minowaman, but there are definitely better fights to show.

Wtf did I miss the Aoki fight or they just talking about the Fedor fight?
Edit: This song is like the perfect walk out song.

oh thats what igf is? so barnett is gonna pro wrestle too? lame
don't understand how people can be a fan of MMA and enjoy pro wrestling, knowing that it's fake. different strokes for different folks i guess
edit: so Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Peter Aerts and Le Banner vs Tim Sylvia are both pro wrestling... was looking forward to those fights -__-;;
|
Not a big fan of pro wrestling but that Barnett match was actually entertaining

HAHAH yeah the MMA scene and pro wrestling scene are a lot more closely intertwined in Japan than in North America, however, pro wrestling is handled a lot differently in Japan (less focus on drama/storylines and more focus on the matches)
That's why you'd occasionally see showmatches in MMA that were obviously not going to be competitive in Japan, they love spectacles.
|
That was pretty entertaining for a puroresu match.

just watched the barnett match and yeah it looks very different from wrestling in the US. it was almost like a jiu-jitsu match, very technical and a bit more realistic

Aoki, how long does it take to get a rear naked choke?

that's not true. it happens in the UFC all the time

On December 31 2011 23:32 danmooj1 wrote: Aoki, how long does it take to get a rear naked choke?
Kitaoka had really really really good rear naked defense that fight. First off a lot of the ground work took place against one of the posts which would gave Aoki a lot less room to change angles to get his arm under Kitaoka's neck, Kitaoka also did a really good job of attacking the hands and wrists, and Kitaoka also made it hard for Aoki to get proper hooks or proper body triangle, when Aoki did get the body triangle he would always turn over towards Aoki's ankle's which would put release a lot of the pressure. There was actually never a rear naked attempt that was close, even though the commentators seemed to think.

Just based on the last few UFC's there's about 1 RNC average for each card

no need to get so defensive. just retorting what you said. but the UFC in general is "high level". those guys can probably beat most of the cans they have in dream

I definitely exaggerated with my statement, but come on you have to admit that 99% of the time when a back is taken nothing happens!

well I guess I can see what you're saying because rnc is one of the few (the only one I can think of) submissions that can be used by taking someones back and everyone knows that it's coming so all you gotta do is defend that specific choke. where as in the guard or mount there's a lot more options so you're more prone to get submitted by something else
