It is hard as hell to watch the knicks play like this. What the hell are these guys doing.... They've been playing like panic stricken little kids dropping the ball left and right.

alls i know is when both amare and anthony were out, the knicks looked great. chandler, novak, shumpert, even fields played great and the defense was great. now that amare and carmelo are back, lin plays like shit and the second unit regularly plays better than the starters. i would love to see a starting lineup of lin/chandler/shumpert/fields/novak. but it wouldn't make sense to relegate two 'superstars' to the bench.

Knicks play better with the bench, fuck the linsanity hype why bench davis and bring lin in when davis was the reason we were coming back along with Novak? and yea bring Melo in when hes shooting what? 20%? this game. Fire D'Antoni

Knicks best lineup is probably Chandler/Davis/Amare/Novak/Shumpert, with jeffries in there his D is on point.

Davis had barely anything to do with it. He was chucking up a lot more bad shots than good ones and made some silly turnovers. The bench was the real reason for the comeback. They were a lot more eager to actually move around and create better spacing, plus they played solid defense for half of the fourth. Lin can't do much when the Knicks' offense isn't giving him opportunities to punish those hedges and traps; additionally, they don't seem to have much of a plan besides an initial pick and roll, so player movement stagnates when the PnR is unsuccessful.

Knicks got back into the game because of their defense, not because Davis was running the offense

I think you think when the Knicks are coming back and Davis is on the floor, that means Davis is the reason for the comeback. Not that simple. Davis was just as fail as Lin today. And Melo was mega fail today.

I find it funny that everyone here is blaming D'Antoni for this mess, and not the guy who truly assembled the team, the owner James Dolan. He's the reason the Knicks have Anthony, and as long as he is the owner (unless he changes his way, which I highly doubt), Knicks are never going to win a championship. Though you can't fire the owner, D'Antoni is the scapegoat which is the classic villain in sports. People should know that when you bring in D'Antoni to coach, defense is not going to be a strength. If I recall correctly, D'Antoni left the Suns because the GM wanted to hire an assistant coach to run defense.

Also, the lockout affected the Knicks a lot, since they had a ton of new pieces coming onto their roster. Stoudemire, Anthony, and Lin are below-average to average defenders; teams are going to exploit the mismatches. However, it's hard to justify sending one of Amare/Melo to come off the bench; imagine the NY press headlines and D'Antoni would get canned even faster. So, the Knicks will prod along with one of the hardest schedules post-All Star Break.
