And the only reason Griffin is an odd ball is because the West is stacked with great power forwards. Griffin just won the popularity contest.

Of course I didn't expect anything else when taking into account the casual fan ![]() I'll agree that Griffin probably won because of his style, but he's got the substance to back it up. He's been playing some really good basketball all season. The same cannot be said for Melo, who's doing poorly compared to previous seasons.

Of course, this current Knicks vs Bulls game isn't doing him any favors.

When I saw Zach Randolph and David Lee and Gerald Wallace and Kaman and such on the court, the game wasn't nearly as fun. They basically do what other players do, only a little bit better. People don't care who wins the game, they just want to be entertained. This is the chance we get to see the Kobe Lebron. Kobe Wade, Lebron Durant, Chris Paul Rose matchups all in the same game. The all star game is Lob City, and that's ok. When we want to see teams try to win, we'll watch the playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised if the coaches reserves was something like, Westbrook, Monta (would be Manu normally, can't think of anyone else...), Gay, Dirk, Timmy D, Aldridge, Gasol and the East looking something like, Rondo, Deron, Johnson, Bosh, Pierce, KG, (no clue who a center will be...Asik?!). Little it of love to teams who spent money recently, and some nods to people who may never make an all star game again come next years draft. Also Gerald Wallace not entertaining?! Are we watching different sports?! How is someone who encompasses the soul of The Predator not entertaining?

Griffin's a human-highlight reel and playing in LA. He was always going to start ahead of Aldridge and Love. Same for Carmelo and NYC. And yeah, this game is a severe indictment on the level of Cs in the NBA now. But I guess we already knew that following the ridiculous contracts guys like Jordan and Brown got. The reserve selections should be interesting. West I'm thinking: G--Westbrook, Lowry F--Wallace, Love (maybe Gallo?) C--Marc Gasol wildcard--Millsap, East: G--Jennings, D Will (not sure he really deserves it this year though. Rondo will prob get one of these spots though. Jrue Holiday a possible smokey). F--Bosh, JSmoove (Ryan Anderson could be a smokey give it's in Orlando) C--Monroe (edging out Hibbert) wildcard--Iggy, Deng (edging out Joe J) Did I miss anyone? Didn't include Amare--not playing so well. Nash could make it but Suns are awful. Maybe Danny Granger but he's not really having an All-Star season for me. Kinda forgot about Noah. He'll probably beat out Monroe, but as bad a the Pistons have been, Monroe has developed strongly. Garnett or Pierce might get one, but meh.

If the Pacers don't have an all star and Detroit does, that would be horrible. Granger wont make it, he got off to a slow start to make it. Although recently, he has been on a tear.

Deron should get in, since his past years are better than everyone elses, everything.

I think he'll make it on the coach's vote even though he has been pretty scratchy this year.

I don't see how Ray Allen's performing worse than Jennings. And Pierce has been shooting worse this season, but coaches will be impressed how he's been leading the Celtics to wins without Ray Allen and Rondo. Westbrook's the only definite on your list in the west, Bosh the only one on the east. Nash is leading the league in assists with less minutes than any other candidate. Actually, if I were to make predictions, I might as well take last years roster and I'll probably be very accurate, with Amare replacing one of the Hawks, a Pacer or 76er in place of the other, and Aldridge replacing Blake on reserve, injured Manu replaced with Nash. Pau and KG might be in danger.

I can't see the previous year's final's mvp and what qualitatively "proved" him to be better than Lebron, not being an all star. Chauncey and Tony Parker made it the next year, and they're not in the same caliber as Dirk.
