Tempted to pick one up as an alt team, not sure who else to put on the team as a 3rd. Leaning towards doom. At this point I'm pretty sure Hawkeye just beats Phoenix Wright for free, sadly. Constant harassment with arrows seems to shut down the entire evidence gathering process.
Theory fighter aside, my team of CapA/Ghost Rider/Viper got second at a tournament last weekend. Got a long way to go, but my goal is to get top 32 at Final Round this year. Posting here to keep myself accountable so I keep practicing.
Yah doom would be a great addition to that team. I was messing with Nem/hawkeye/doom, and it was pretty solid. I switched out hawkeye for firebrand though, just because I'm having so much fun with him.
I'm running Hawkeye/Strange/Taskmaster right now and I been playing a ton of player matches an haven't run into many Hawkeye/Taskmaster teams
Been facing alot of Dante/Vergil teams the past few hours but I think that has a little to do with Yipes.
Hey, newbie question here. How do you cancel Wesker's OTG gun into super? And also what do people mean when they say "maximum wesker" or replace "wesker" with any other character?
You have to do team super after the OTG gun iirc ( i hate wesker and dont play him obv), if you have one bar it will just look like you did a normal super, but its always team.

lol. Basically, the wesker super phantom dance or w/e it's called looks 100% identical to what Maximum Spider was in marvel 2.
I was playing with some Frank West but I just don't think he's my style of character. I really want to run Viper in MVC and AE, but I think she takes the most work to play well. Back to the lab I guess.
I'm runing Iron Fist, Nova, Strange which i have tons of fun with. However I am disgusted at how many Hawkeye, Vegil, and Dante players there are online, especially Hawkeye, he has to be the easiest character in the game IMO.
Honestly, team building isn't that important just yet, since it's not quite yet figured out what characters are optimal for each role. (nor have we found anything crazy like the old dhc glitch)
I picked three characters, went into training mode, and found the right order for dhc's and who needs what assist and it ended up working out pretty well so far. More importantly though, you won't understand why you'd want to change your team comp until you start playing matches and have your team's weaknesses exposed.
@carrot, viper's not as complicated as people make her out to be tbh. The difficulty comes in being able to get in effectively and finding ways to convert combos off of odd hits. The combos themselves just take a little practice and some tight timing.
Just a brief shout. Final Round Japan will have their usual monthly fighting game tourney this Saturday. This will be the first time we will be having UMVC3 up so come join our stream, or if your round Tokyo come join us!, if youd like to see how the Japanese scene is building their teams.
Right now, I'm running with Wesker/Hawkeye/Vergil and it's been gong alright so far, I think I'm like 22-23 or something online.
Though, I'm not really sure what I'm doing in this game. I have at least one B&B for each character in my team, but I don't really have ways to land it other than punishing with cr.L into combo, or just walking up and hoping they don't block low. I also don't really have a gameplan with my assists other than the basics, like throwing them out when I'm trying to approach or throwing them out when I kill a character and another one is about to come in.
I'm also thinking about switching Hawkeye/Vergil slots because whenever I only have Vergil, I can't really do anything if the other guy just holds down back. Whereas with Hawkeye, at least I can shoot arrows and just go nuts and chip the other guy to death. But then again, I suck at this game so maybe I'm not using Vergil well enough to mix the other guy up lol.
If I were you Junny I would put hawkeye on anchor over Vergil. I know what ya mean about not knowing what to do... you have a strong foundation though, the rest just comes from lots of play and taking ideas from different places. Getting the proper mixups going and applying those combos you know will help a ton.
+1 on hawkeye anchor, he's great at it, especially if you have some meter saved up. For now, at least.
If someone is foolish enough to call an assist + press a button as your hawkeye anchor comes in, you can gimlet xfc gimlet and kill the assist and possibly their point at the same time lol
