Using a combination of SC5's replay exporter + the PS3 video upload tool you can upload replays straight to Youtube with no technical know-how which is really cool. Unfortunately SC5 doesn't give an option to export in HD. (Don't watch if really low level play offends you :p) | ||

For the PS3 you need to save a replay after a match (or from the list of you previous 8 games) and then select the option to export to .avi by pressing start. Once the replays finishes playing you will have an .avi on your PS3's HDD which you can then export to Youtube/Facebook with the XMB video editing tool. | ||

I'm surprised at how comfortable Pyrrha feels to play in comparison to Patroklos. I may mess around with her while trying to get accustomed to the game's system before switching to someone like Viola or something XD | ||

You will certainly need to approach 2D and 3D differently due to the presence or absence of a z axis but the systematic and mechanical differences aren't necessarily tied to them being either 3D or 2D. Most 2D fighting games use a direction to block by pressing the opposite direction of your opponent using the D-pad or stick. But there are exceptions like Smash Bros and Mortal Kombat that use a button for blocking. Most 3D fighters use 1 or more buttons for blocking often having a high block and low block button. A 2D game like Street Fighter 4 does not have very long or fancy practical combos. Most combos are done on the ground without much fancy air juggling. But 2D games like Blazblue and Melty Blood have long series of combos that often bring you and your opponent into the air to be knocked around some more. All 3 of these games feature 1v1 fights with multiple rounds. 2D games like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 or King of Fighters 13 have teams of 3 fighters and a match lasts until one person loses all 3 characters with no extra rounds. In Marvel vs. Capcom 3 your characters that aren't actively fighting on screen can be called in occasionally to perform a move as an "assist" either to shore up weaknesses in your point character or help extend combos even further. In King of Fighters 13 only the character you currently have out can do anything and you can't use your other 2 characters in any way until your first one is defeated. There are as many similarities and dissimilarities in 3D fighting games. Soul Caliber 5 is a weapon based fighting game. Tekken is primarily uses punches and kicks. In Dead or Alive you can't be knocked out of the stage and lose like you can in Soul Caliber. In Tekken games characters don't have 'fireballs' or projectile moves but in a game like Rival Schools almost the entire cast has a projectile. The most typical way long combos work in 3D fighting games is to knock an opponent into the air while you stay grounded and juggle them until they hit the ground. Some enjoy Tekken's more realistic approach to fighting but some games like Dragon Ball Budokai go over the top as is typical with Dragon Ball in general. TL;DR I think if you've played Smash and Tekken Tag you already know the major differences between 2D and 3D fighting games. | ||

I believe Namco's next release would be the console ports of Tekken Tag 2 in the summer I believe (games such as Armored Core V and Naruto "whetever the next game is" are only published by Namco so I won't count them). Other than TTT2 though, I don't think they have another game announced so it's likely TxSF is next  | ||
