Group A
Ninjas in Pyjamas Team SoloMid Renegades Counter Logic Gaming
Group B
Team ENVYUS Luminosity Gaming Team Kinguin FlipSid3 Tactics
Group C
Fnatic Natus Vincere Titan Team eBettle
Group D Virtus.Pro mousesports Cloud9 Team Immunity
Group D seems to be the hardest group although I don't know how good the current Titan is, GSL bo1 format is going to fuck everyone up though. mb CLG can upset NiP.
It's not even pure GSL format. After the group winners and losers are decided, there's a shuffle. So the deciding matches will be played against someone random that you haven't played before - that helps with 1-1 teams getting out of tough groups, and lessens the impact of teams with a tough draw (like Titan).

Cloud9 lucked out with the groups being redrawn, because VP and mouz both have C9's number.
About Hiko: He instantly makes Liquid good, but the issue is still the in-game leading and AWP presence. Liquid still has to figure out if they want adreN doing both or if he'll pass off one of the responsibilities (IGLing to Hiko or AWP to nitr0).

I dont think adren is strong enough to do either tbh.

I think the hope here is for the new coach to try and get him to be good enough but we'll see. =S

Hiko is far from being bad/mediocre and could improve TL
but its not in the level of the top tier players
|
Hiko is one of the best options for liquid considering theyre basically restricted to the NA scene. (I still think he fucked his career over and has basically deteriorated in obscurity ever since iBP / C9).
I think they need to find a better awper (probably nitr0?) and relegate adren to a more passive role, such as support. He's a solid player but completely stale imo, proved time and time again he simply cant compete at the top (Top top) level.
Basically -flowsick +Hiko -Fugly +??? (cough Capped LEM god cough). If they could find a solid fifth with <--- i think those changes could work wonders for liquid.
I simply dont think adren has it in him to igl or awp and is dragging them down along with the lack of talent in flowsick/fugly. With a more passive role and a coach to help adren, IGL could definitely be his thing but AWPing is not.

^ As long as it's not Semphis :p

I see a lot of upsets in these groups.... Like eBettle upset over fnatic. But all I hope for is for NiP to pass groups, bought their hoody recently ^^

You must not have been watching much of Liquid lately because FugLy is their best player.

Yea, fugly is the player that has been performing the best as of late. Idk why anyone would want to cut him. He is probably not their most talented player, but at least he is performing.

Hiko had several carries playing with Flipside, was I the only one who watched their games?
Anyway, Cologne is going to be dope af.

Be smart TL mgmt. If you pay the Hiko his money, make sure he wears TL hats :D.
edit: I already like the moves shown though.

Yeah I think Adren is the only player that stricly needs to go in favour of another IGL
Hiko's masterplan is obv to cruise around the lower tier teams to find talent and then team up with some of the guys that might be unbanned

Hiko is not good enough to play on a top tier NA team anymore.

This new nV lineup is so good and fun to watch
|
My thoughts on Adren: always have and still do like the guy a lot. My issue is that when he went from part-time to full-time CS a couple of months ago I personally didn't notice a jump in skill at all. Of course this is all pure speculation (and maybe you can't expect a jump at the high level of play like that) but to me it looks like that *might* be an indication that his personal and/or team practice sessions aren't maybe going the way they should. I'm saying this because I feel like this kind of transition to full time commitment means a pretty big lifestyle change as well and it's bound to be tricky to get used to it, I'm sure.
When he got signed to Liquid and went full time I was very excited because I expected a significant improvement in skill - and with how decent he was at AWP and rifles back then I hoped for him to become a major NA player. This hasn't happened, maybe it needs more time, maybe more or better practice.

It's a *very* good lineup, but they did struggle against CLG. Not sure if their calls and strats are good enough yet, but they have potential to be top5 again.

Hiko's performance with Flipside completely proves you wrong.
