Im using Siberia v2 and i may want to upgrade, should i go for 7.1 or just some stereo headhones (which i supposed for the same amount of money i can find some 5.1 i could find some better stereo ones) ? On a second question, is worth upgrading from the Siberia v2 ? 5.1/7.1 will not improve your directional hearing compared to stereo. From what I've read, good stereo headphones will always be better than 5.1/7.1, which are kind of a gimmick. You should ask in the headphone thread in the tech forum though, these guys know their stuff!

If you really want an upgrade I would go for Sennheiser gaming headsets or qpad ones. IBP vs. Fnatic starting!

Well I can't compare with a good stereo headphones since I've never had one, but in gaming headset, 5.1/7.1 will usually improve your directional hearing. I've made the test recently on csgo, since apparently they fixed some issues with 5.1 sound setting?, with my SoundBlaster Arena headset and I can tell you, while the virtual surround sound is active, it's a lot easier to ear where the sound comes from. I don't find myself wondering if the sound that I heard is really coming from the back or not anymore. It's making a good difference for me. So IMO, if you don't have any problems pinpointing sound ingame, then you won't really need a 5.1/7.1 headset, you should probably go with a good pair of stereo headphones.

//edit: I love how CT favored/T favored mean squat for a longer period of time and change seamlessly with the meta and how people tend to play.
