They won't show how VAC works so others can't adjust their cheats. These cheats are not that obvious.

Click on "play mission" from your journal, it will host a lobby for that mission. Quit that lobby and join your friend's lobby. You should still be able to see your mission in top left.

This is both hilarious and sad- I am happy to see it, yet disappointed. The sweet taste of justice and the bitter pill of sadness.

Thx, i was wondering about that also. Had to play same mission 2 times.

I find it baffling with all the games played and all the streams, GOTV and LAN events.

I mean, I remember I had a wallhack installed back in 1.6 at some point to see exactly where and how to wallbang when NOT playing against other players. Just to know the spots, and then removed the hack again. But I still got kicked from a server scrimming once basically ruining my rep (some anticheat that registered if you had some or one of the files in your directory, that I had not removed due to my ignorance). But still really dumb.

It seems to be a sophisticated and subtle aimbot that increases the likelihood of chest/headshots by a certain percentage instead of outright forcing them.

Wow, ok i see. That is so ridiculous. Then it is even more calculated on the cheaters part. Wow, no respect and no mercy for these guys if this is true... And tis would even enable the guys to cheat on LAN if they play on own computers?

Savior was completely different from this. Throwing matches casts more doubt on the scene as a whole than a few players using performance enhancers. As long as the higher ups/tournament organizers didn't know about these cheats and Valve brings in some shiny new anti-cheat the pro-scene is fine.

AFAIK the cheat was retrieved through Steam Workshop, so as long as they used their own Steam accounts it'd work on any LAN computers, not just their own.

we independently banned a high profile cheater, a german player, then worked with valve and shared our specific technique so that more pro players would get banned

the results are starting to roll out with vac bans tonight, more to come soon

The way that these pros would cheat was that they would subscribe to a secret workshop item, then through the workshop mechanics, silently download and use the hacks on LAN

I actually found it very sad how cheaters casually talk about their cheats. "I felt that was the only thing that was missing so now I have that enabled when I'm playing." Meh. I hope this gets cleaned up fast, I fucking hate cheaters.

I think CEVO's scrim/pug service still has no friendly fire, since they just took/bought out alt pug's service.

Not sure how I feel about the new sticker buying system. At first, it seemed great that I can just buy the certain stickers I want for the pick'em challenge, but then, I lose the fun of opening the capsules. Also, I wonder if it'll go on sale later. They kind of kept it with the holo's, but damn, $5...

What's that about?

Basically means he was like the 18th person to sign up to steam when it came out 11 years ago.

Every steam account has a SteamID. It's just a counter of the order in which steam accounts were created, but obviously the older the account the lower the number. There isn't any "inherent" value or difference, but obviously having a mega old steam account is pretty cool. New steam accounts these days are 9-digit IDs. 4-digit steam accounts and below are worth hundreds of dollars. a 2 digit account, especially as low as 18, is literally legendary. If thats actually his steamID, his account was the 19th steam account ever created (I think there's a 0 account).
