This is so sad . Hope this sets an example for any pro's to stop cheating.

Wow I don't follow CSGO but saw the cheating bans. That is nuts. From reading reddit it seems like this may just be the tip. Is cheating really that prominent in the pro scene ... or at least alleged?

ahhh I just remembered one of the rare 1.6 cheaters from high level CS (like went to CPLs etc.) and was really well known when he decided to cheat. Mike 'CUZ' Nang. He was fucking obvious when he cheated in those couple matches though. No one was surprised when he got banned.

I disagree with Thoorin.

I think ESEA and volvo's approach is the right one. Hacking is a cat and mouse game and releasing information to the public just allows people to get away with the crime easier or help the hacking community.

smn is also now VAC banned, so I'm assuming it's the same hack. smn denied at first and now admits to hacking. I think I heard somewhere that volvo contacted ESEA to know more information about the new hacks that involved the steam workshop / the one smn used.

Whatever that dumbass has to say for "insight" is no better than a twitch chatting kappa spamming HLTV.org racist.

God fuck i wish he would melt into obscurity already.

P.S. I dislike thorin and am heavily salty after being fucked over by an obvious hacker who openly admitted toggling them midway through the match and then gloated as he took his team from 12-4 to 14-16 at a KDA of 50+ - 10+ - 20ish

Fucking KQLY's new account down in nova.

Yeah covering multiple games with pretty high quality content is not valuable at all.
Makes sense man

Thorin doubting the legitmacy of a VAC ban is only because he is trying to save face for thinking that hackers are some of the best players in the scene.

I think Thorin's point was that pros are the ones who can implement and gain from hacks the most effectively -- since they are already highly skilled they don't rely on the hacks to compensate for basic mechanics, but instead gain slight edges in other ways. Imagine a SC2 pro who already possesses a thorough understanding of the game, using maphacks in a tournament. They wouldn't be dumb enough to swing their camera around the enemies base or run to the corner of a map to kill off drops, they wouldn't even have to blind-counter their opponent's tech every game. even if they just used a maphack to help avoid taking a bad engagement/walking into traps, it would be a significant boost to their performance and nobody would be able to identify the hack.

Basicly, what we see now is Tour de france:Global Offensive.

and i think it will have to become more routine for tournament organizers to constantly be checking for hacks from here on out (especially at LAN if it is indeed possible to use hacks in that environment). i predict it will be just like dope-testing for mainstream sports.

holy shit. how deep does the rabbit hole go?

DHWinter is gonna be a mess. on the other hand hopefully a wake up call that Valve gets their shit together.

I so hope Fnatic is not affected, on the other hand they are super suspicious as they are one of the teams that just improved the most... absolutely no way to know for sure at this point.

holy.... so it begins.

Titan and Epsilon have been disqualified from DreamHack Winter following the VAC bans handed to Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian and Gordon "Sf" Giry, the event’s organisers have confirmed.
