Good luck to him ![]() I won't say that he is on par with other pros but I really disagree about the hate. Fifflaren didn't play worse than 5 month ago. He still got hate from everyone when he clutched rounds, got consistent kills and was top fragging in his team because (partly because Friberg, Forest and Get_Right have been in slump for a while). He was pretty much the hate-magnet for his team. The CS community is a giant retard blob and it shows in this case. That said, I think they should look for a good awper and a solid team leader and focus on their mind set right now.

The players are always evolving and perhaps forest and get_right can't shoulder the weight as much anymore and need a 5th that can contribute more equally. A lot of players have caught up to their level and I never saw how he contributed much ingame. He's not even an entry fragger or a strat caller and when you watch him he's not at the same skill level as the players on top teams. When NiP won ESL cologne, his rating was a .71 and the next closest player was at 1.01. I don't remember when Fifflaren got consistent kills and was top fragging recently. Here's kind of the event history: http://www.hltv.org/?pageid=247&playerid=7147&eventid=1444&gameid=2 And if you click on some of the events, he's right there at the bottom. If it's one match out of the blue here or there, then it's not really consistent. I don't hate the guy but I think it was needed. I thought they were going to wait until after DHW to make a change but it still wasn't all too surprising.

seems like after nip/fnatic there's a huge drop-off in quality of players in sweden.

It's also the best practice in general as it allows you to train your game sense at the same time. The problem is that your opponent's skill can heavily deter you from getting good feedback and in terms of repitition/time it's pretty poor when compared to DM/aim maps. I find I improve the most when i play against people who are ranks above me. Going from queuing up solo to with some higher ranked tl guys I definately improved more when i had to in order to even get a kill lol.

Fliffly is a dick for retiring a month before DHW. If I was him, I would have waited to see if we (nip) could have at least prepped strats for DHW using the people that we know and just focus on awp training. It would have been better to see what happened at DHW then retire regardless if he wants to go be a coach or a staff member. That being said, Fliffy wouldn't retire unless NiP has a replacement for him cause they seriously can't be wasting time like this having only 4 when DHW is quite close and they're still scheduled to play in it. If they are quitting DHW to focus on figuring out what is wrong with them and fix it, that would be huge news and I know NiP won't let DHW slide. Play all the rumor mill games you want, but I expect that NiP already has a 5th and that 5th has been training alot to get ready to replace fliffy. Now, who is going to be IGL, I don't know. I don't even know what role the 5th will take up, time will see.

IGL is gonna be Xizt still... he's been the IGL for a while now with pita to support him.

They recently lost/parted ways with SteelSeries and i think the other sponsors clearly voted for a change before the next major.

I felt so sorry for him for all the hate he got on the internet. CS is truly a game that deserves a better community.

At least all I know, it could have been NiP kicking Fifflaren out or them parting ways because everybody agreed it was the best decision. I think they have kind of a regular standin, you can see him playing in NiP players' streams pretty often. I have no idea if he's the calibre to really play in on a top notch competition, but they seem to have a guy who knows how NiP's play works and can play along in that aspect.

I kinda disagree on that. While he certainly has a lot of knowledge and understanding, he lacks the personality that e.g. makes an Artosis so popular. And that's mainly because of his bias towards certain teams/players on which he is hating pretty hard no matter what they do. And that's a very big "no go" for a journalist.
