Not sure if anyone missed the ESL tournament this past weekend like I did, but I couldn't find vods anywhere until now. I guess they were busy and just got around to it.

Is there a TL group that has active players?

I've been getting back in to CS:GO and am not quite ready for ESEA! :D

There's a TL group. I'm an active player. But I don't use groups on Steam either, so I dunno about anyone else.

Really didn't expect an american team to be up 10-5 vs NiP after the first half, even thought it is CT side on Nuke. Xist didn't get a single kill or assist until round 10 or something.

And NiP still fucking turns it around. :D Curse made that way more interesting than it should've been though (16-14).

Some really disappointing plays from Curse. :/

I still think teams in CS:GO seem relatively uncoordinated and undisciplined compared to 1.6 teams, even though a lot of the players are the same. So many times we've seen Curse players hide in the same spot or not check very obvious places, or just take really vulnerable positions.

It's not just Curse.NA, it's every NA team. The level of coordination and teamwork is so much lower in NA than it is in EU, and the American CS culture is to blame.

I could rant about this for hours, but basically everyone in NA has a giant ego for no reason, everyone thinks their aim is amazing, and everyone is willing to jump on a teammates back when they mess up but won't take ownership for their mistakes. That's why you see NA teams (from ESEA Open up to Invite) peak and then repeak post-plant, play dumb spots pre-plant, turn 2v1 situations into two separate 1v1 situations, etc.

If you look at the statistics from ESEA Lan, tck from Quantic had 25 "clutch" (1vX) rounds won. That's great for him, but in reality he shouldn't have even been in that many "clutch" situations to begin with. Poor team play and fundamentals are to blame, especially in the 1v1 situations when he had a teammate that made a dumb peak and forced him to have to clutch the round.

And that's just playing as a team and minimizing stupid mistakes. I don't even want to get started on how NA teams for the most part have little to no set strats, and for the most part throw one or two set smokes at the beginning of the round and flash site as they take it. Compare that to VeryGames, who threw at least two if not three set/timed smokes for their A take w/ pit control on inferno (including one that completely obscured balcony at apartment that let two T's drop into pit totally unobstructed), and then flash took site as a team and immediately began to set up for a post-plant scenario as the bomb was going down.

I've finally started playing this game a bit more. Used to play the predecessors a lot...

Curious, has anyone purchased the map pack? Seems like a weird concept to have to pay for CS maps but I can understand the incentive to support mapmakers.

So I've been playing tons of this lately after a long cs hiatus. If anyone wants to play (I'm godawful, be warned), my steam id is Perichles

That's it, I've had enough of the official match-making servers.

Was playing a game on Inferno in which I started out pretty badly in the first couple of rounds and went 0-5 or something (had some poor luck with my aim, I didn't really make any big tactical/strategical blunders or anything). So a couple of my teammates start talking an insane amount of trash about how much I suck, yada yada yada. That's fine, I'm not one who gets upset about that, it's to be expected to a certain degree (although I think it's a highly counter-productive behaviour) since the internet is full of assholes.

Next round I all of sudden find myself in a 1v5 (was holding our flank while they ran and died). Immediately my mateys start cackling about what noob I am. Then I whip out some quite beautiful play; I take down one, two, three guys in a quick succession and pick up the dropped bomb. At this point you'd expect to get an encourating ''Nice!'', or something. Nooooooo, they start screaming into their mics to make it impossible for me to hear anything in the game. Despite that I take down a fourth guy at the bombsite and get the bomb planted (at this point I heard one of them saying ''Hmm, he could actually do it'', while the rest kept up their noisemaking). Now, if I could've played on the defuse I think I would've won that round, but instead, due to their screaming, I had to constantly peek and eventually got killed.

It was a new level of immaturity that I've never encountered before. The retardation blew my mind. After that round I muted them, and ended up with better stats than all of them (which is usually kinda irrelevant to me since it's a team game and the numbers do not always reflect how well/poorly you played, but the way they started ranting after like 5 rounds based on my poor stats made that somewhat satisfying).

It feels like I'm running into fuckheads who are TKing or going AFK when things aren't going their way more and more often lately. Dunno what to do though, because I don't always have friends available to play with me, and I'd probably get lolraped super hard if I went on ESEA. =/

To be fair, ESEA isn't as bad these days with the influx of new players in CSGO now. The community here, at least in NA, is nowhere near as elitist.

I generally stick to nicely run vanilla pub servers.

I've also got a few servers on my favorites labeled teamwork or competitive where people actually have their stuff together. Act like an idiot on one of those and you'll usually get ridiculed or kicked.

Queing up is too much of a commitment for me.

I don't understand what it is with NA. We're the worst in every single e-sport. I don't really come across any more cocky people here than I did when I went to Europe for a while.

ESEA is super duper hard, but it's way funner than matchmaking from the week or so I used it.

Do people event consider CS:GO as a worthy successor to 1.6?
Or is it still a running joke like Jaehoon in BW?
