Do it!
At least it will be good motivator, like in the old times, "holy shit 10 people watching our HLTV" gotta make those ACEs.

Its such a shame that esea has a monopoly on competitive cs in the states....it really prevents the scene from getting any bigger when all the good players are in an insular pay2play community that newcomers are much less likly to get involved in. cs grew into the competitive game it became largely due to free leagues like CAL and through the use of a free chat client like icq and then irc. i fear csgo will never quite make it as an esport, especially here in america, because of that.

in what way monopoly? i have zero clue of cs leagues so what keeps someone from just hosting a nice tournament?
also IF go takes if in the rest of the world couldnt the americans just jump on whatever the rest is playing?

Unfortunately true, but still, it's the only way to get decent games :\

It's a monopoly because nobody else has started a league (afaik). CAL folded because when they started they had $50 million or something as funding. By 2009 they had nothing. Running a league is expensive. If MLG picked up GO it would certainly help fuel a free league, but there aren't any other big players.

There is technically nothing stopping anybody from hosting a 'nice tournament'....but all the good players are already deeply involved in esea-ran tournaments which have shit advertising and shit production from a spectator pov, because they only exist to serve the paying esea customers, because thats all esea cares about. MONEY. You have to understand the history of cs. cs was HUGE before esports was anywhere near 'profitable'(still isnt really), and torbull ran team3d which was one of the best teams in the world for a while. when the CGS came around, all of americas big teams put all their eggs in one basket and it failed miserably, leaving a sour taste in tons of important people's mouths. Thats why big teams like EG and complexity have been reluctant to push csgo, because they just dont want to get burned, but in reality they got behind a shit business model with shit planning and did themselves in. thats why torbull has given up on team3d and is completely focused on his little money making machine(esea).
Hi, looking for 3 people to play some classic competitive to play with. Me and my friend will be playing all day today. Just PM if anyone is interested.
I'm SpaceJam on ESEA if anyone wants to play. I'm reallyyyyy bad and still learning positions on the maps and stuff but I listen to the team and don't stray off on my own and stuff.
