why does the sound in winamp go to 0 when i join a server? i can't figure out how to make that stop, the volume in winamp is max and there's no audio settings in cs to turn it off. so fucking annoying

I have absolutely no problem telling what direction people are coming from. Something is wrong with your setup.

(just won our d2 match yay) i have no idea what you are talking about. (if anything, i find the awp to be more accurate, more quickly, after i hit a shot. when compaired to source.)

you can change it in your windows sound settings. there should be a "communication" tab somewhere. you'll see what i mean when you find it.

Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Sound --> Communication Then choose:
[ ] Mute all other sounds [ ] Reduce the volume of other sounds by 80% [ ] Reduce the volume of other sounds by 50% [x] Do nothing

Hi guys, is there an integrated tool to make videos included in Steam/CSGO?

Seems ok to me too.
Maybe it was better in source? I don't know I didn't play much.

It was definitely diferent. We're creatures of habits and when things change we don't adjust well
I think you can hear the foot steps a lot clearer from mid distance in cs:go. So i too sometimes think that someone is right behind me when in fact he's like 10-20 meters away behind a wall. Takes some time to get used to.

I've noticed this as well. With headphones it feels like you can hear running from across the entire map.

you're pointing out the right problem, there is no issue finding out from which direction the sound comes, but how far the sound is, and it's not a habit problem since I'm not a CS player, it's just that the sound is fucked up and you can't tell how far a person is.

I have absolutely no problem telling what direction people are coming from. Something is wrong with your setup. It has more to do with distance than anything as some have pointed out. I have played cs for years (both 1.6 and source) with this setup and it is perfectly fine. Maybe I'm just used to old cs footsteps or maybe I'm crazy, but the footsteps in this game confuse the hell out of me.

I also encountered some crazy bug related to sound. When playing office one time, the footsteps got bugged behind one wall and so it would sound like someone was running there even though no one was. You could only hear it in a small area on one side of the wall.
In general, I am generally okay with the sound in the game except in certain circumstances. I'm sure they'll keep working on it.

I've had that happen on train in a Comp Classic.
I don't know how many of you guys play Comp Classic but what do you guys think about being put in the middle of a match? It seems like every time I queue up I get thrown into the middle of a blowout one way or the other and I just have to ride it out until the next round or else I will never get a serious game. Getting put into a game against people of a relatively equal skill with only $800 in round 5-7 of either half usually means that if I'm on the winning team I'm getting carried until halftime/new game or if I'm on the losing team I just get thrown into the middle of a stomping because I can't help turn around a game when at most I can have a Deag or P225 against an awper or AK. It seems like if they took an average of your team's kits and unspent money and gave you somewhere between 1/2 and 1/3 of the average it would be a lot less shitty to join one in progress.

I don't know why they wouldn't just give you 2800$ or something when you start; it's still a disadvantage to join one in progress as you don't know how your enemies play yet.

That will solve your money issues

Unfortunately I found my first hacker today. Just running around and automatically headshotting players with all weapons at any distance
