iirc RVP has a contract with arsenal til the end of the next season, though he refuses to talk about new one until this summer. guess he isn't sure if it is right to stay at emirates... If that is the case, then I see that as him wanting to give arsenal a shot this season, and if it doesn't work out (which it isn't/won't) then he won't sign another and ask to leave. I'd think it depends if they can reach top4 and get to sign some good players this summer. If they fail to qualify for the Champions League next year I doubt they'll able to sign some big guns (Hazard i.e.) and RVP will prolly leave :/ Sad days as an Arsenal fan ._.
No strong finish no easy signings and keeping players will be even harder, unfortunately Arsenal are ridiculously bad finishers. I was hoping they got that out of their system early in the season for a change but it really worries me this time of the year they always start to fall apart really really badly. Its going to take some doing.

pfff, man u pushes for 15 minutes and they score then they score out of a counter. 2-0 in favor of united pretty expected result in the end .

Porto playing brilliantly, great pressure, genious Hulk and what a kickass save from Helton off Balotelli's shot

Porto with Lucho Gonzalez is definately a different team, missed him so much

yep lol, Ajax isn't as good as Man U when they play witht heir best 11 players but with all these injuries the difference in skill is just incredible. People like özbiliz and buliykin really aren't good enough to play for ajax but they do sadly.

Hannover always up for some crazy games in Euro League.

No what cost Ajax was the clear difference in individual skill of our players against the players of Man U. The team is stripped because of injury and obviously our best line-up doesn't match up either, but it would've been a closer match.
The moment Man U decided to press up the field a bit they overwhelmed Ajax easily. Still, with the players that were on the pitch today, I think we did an ok job. No-one expected anything anyway.

Yet another racist complaint vs crowds in the Iberian Peninsula..... Is racism just in general more tolerated over there?

Portugal has a strong relation to African Countries... We "colonized" Angola, Moçambique, Cabo Verde, São Tomé e Principe, and altough they're all independent now we stil have strong connections with that countries. Racism is a strong subject, and we don't take it Lightly... But, and i speak for myself and for a great percentage os portuguese people (i guess ), we don't consider racism someone calling "preto de merda" (F**cking N*gger) during a football match. It's just like someone calling "filho da puta" (sob) to someone during a football game... It's unsportsmanlike? yes it is... but it's not Racism... People are nervous during football games and the rivalry is just palpable so it's kinda normal... And people who don't think like that are hypocrites...
That's why i consider this Suarez and Terry thing just blown out of porpotion...
It all depends on the context

How about sections of crowds making monkey noise to players of african descent? If teams & organisations don't take a tough stance, how are those idiots supposed to learn it's wrong? You guys think being firm on racism is being a 'pussy'? Maybe mentality like yours is the problem over there.

Yes and the FA & Police here are swiftly dealing with it. That's because racism is a big deal here, and people take firm action over it. The spanish/portugues counterparts seem more relaxed over it. That's why I was asking if culurally, racist comments or actions are more tolerated over there.

LOL i edited my comment cuz it wast too strong
But for me, making a racial insult to someone is just as bad as an insult to the professional condition of someone's mother...
Racism is when someone excludes socially another person because of his race... is when people don't get the same opportunites than other because of their race or religion... Not when some people from the opossite football team are called niggers... FFS Porto had 6 Black players on their team yesterday.... (Fernando, Helton, Mangala, Varela and Rolando and Alvaro Pereira)

Leave JT out of the racism debate ffs T.T poor guy, THERES ONLY 1 ENGLAND CAPTAIN!! 1 ENGLAND CAPTAINNNNN!

I'd say calling someone a 'fucking nigger' is pretty standard racism. Textbook, even. And as Telcontar correctly points out, a terrible example to the crowds. It wasn't so very long ago that bananas were thrown on the pitch at black players. Crowds are stupid, there's a lot of total bastards in the stands of every club and racism is pretty fucking rife in the working class (in this country) and I believe any indication from the pitch that it's at all acceptable should be stamped down on.
Also according to the Guardian on Arsenel vs AC Milan; 'No team has ever turned over a 4-0 deficit to win a Champions League tie'. Tottenham Hotspur vs Inter Milan 2010. JUST SAYIN'.

Actually its just white people who feel guilty that dont think this way really, We use skin color insults locally all the time and its about as meaningful as calling someone asshole. Hell some people are practically called the N w;rd as a nick name and its never taken anywhere close to seriously. I agree its about context, how heavy the grievance felt by the insult is really more about where it came not the content itself. But its easier to understand it by just simply equating the using racial slurs as racism, so whatever , theres no reason to use insults in the first place anyway. The lesser to go around the better since it clearly something that is problematic.
