Maybe it's the Englishman in me...but then again the three players I mentioned preferring are all Spanish haha. Maybe you haven't seen Messi enough because his passing is easily as good as those players you mentioned. His assists sometimes are the best I have ever seen. He has amazing vision/passing.

People expected him to be the next Brazilian star along with Neymar until he got injured in 2010: The video is one year old. Unfortunately, Ganso had an awful 2011. Around September 2011 he had a really serious injury on his left knee and had to stop for 6 months. He returned in February 2011 and in March he had another injury that put him off for another 3 months. He returned just in time for the Copa Libertadores final. Ever since he's not been the same player. He's also struggling to make a new contract with Santos since 2010. Back then, Neymar made a new contract to earn a shitload more (both earned around R$ 1,200,000 per year - $1 = R$ 1,85), and Ganso was negotiating with the club to get a better salary too. During the negotiations Ganso got injured and they postponed the negotiations. Since then, Neymar has become a better player and is now getting paid R$ 36,000,000 per year, while Ganso still makes the very same R$ 100,000. He still makes brilliant plays, but he seems uninterested in most matches and sometimes he looks like a 40 year old player just walking around. I wonder if will make a good season in 2012. Hopefully he will have a good season in 2012, I used to love watching him play. I didn't make this post to compare him with any of the young players above btw. I just wanted to show some of him to those who never heard of him. Yeah Ganso is quality. Also one of my favorite Brazilian players atm is Coutinho. He may not be as hyped by the media but along with Neymar I think he'll be the next big thing in football in a couple more years.

Touch perfect passes are so gorgeous to watch, so clean and dominant. A good pass gets through as many guys as a sick dribble but it is faster and more efficient. But I will agree with the other guy who said Messi can pass as well as the ppl mentioned, as long as we are talking Silva and Mata, but Messi doesn't focus his game on passing as much as them. Xavi is even better than Messi in passing imo, I don't think anyone in the modern game is as good as him at controlling and setting up attacks from midfield.

Best ever: Messi [I know its very hard to compare players out of different decades and stuff but if I had to make a decision it would be messi. Reason being: Every real soccer fan should basically just know] Zidane [Definitely up there; right now i realize I cant really put those in rankings so I wont] Messi,Zidane and Henry are the three players I admire(d) the most. C.Ronaldo is definitely a special player and has certain abilities + Show Spoiler +

Also i understand now i grew up how good was zidane, i looked some videos and he just dance with the ball, this is fantastic, he was such an elegant genius, and his vision of the game was so perfect, he knew where to pass before control the ball, his head was always high, and he defended amazingly too. Just the perfect player, he just missed pace and acceleration but when you control and do the right pass faster and better than anybody else this is nothing. Also i discovered susic, this guy was so elegant and technical, i almost cried a tear :'( And for me henry wasn't this kind of genius, he ran fast, he scored many, he dribbled often, but he wasn't a genius, just a verry good footballer.

I and everyone who used to watch Premier League and Champions league and thinks he has a certain knowledge about soccer whould be offended by this statement or at least not accept it! I know I admire Henry more than most people (on this board anyway) but still, Henry definitely was a genius and not just a very good footballer. Gotta be kidding me.. Speed: skill: / goals (scoring goals and especially scoring amazing goals is a skill..) I know his main skill is scoring goals but he is a genius at it and his passing and overall skill is just crazy as well. skill watch this and tell me you still think hes just a very good footballer at certain points Henry schooled top competition in the premiere league.. I wouldnt go as far as to compare him with messi or zidane (because they are the greatest for me ever) but Henry .. no genius? No way ![]() Sorry if I annoyed people with this post Im probably a bigger Henry fan than that one guys Name i forgot but everyone knows is a fan of Totti and Roma and last but not least: <3

Football ultimately is about getting the ball in the most optimal position for your team to score a goal. Neymar does this by carrying the ball himself through 3-4 defenders. Cronaldo powers his way through using his strength, speed and skills. Messi does this in his sleep.

Remember, there can be no passes. It would be ok, but it would be fair-er, if this was done during a non-counter attacking situation, i.e. there is at least midfield/defense in front of him and he has to dribble/go around say 3 -4 players. IDK guys, I support Real Madrid but everyone who says Messi is not the best in the world is just a bit silly/hasn't seen any Barça's game (not Barca).

I'd like it at least. A chance for him to develop even further and finally win some prizes. I think he can be a decent addition to any team. Technical player that can definitely play well in the passing game that Barça employs and obviously a tremendous finisher.

I see him as a younger version of Ibra and we all know how that turned out.

Against top defenders, I absolutely agree with you. But I don't really see any difference between brazilian defenders and defenders from Getafe, Levante, Rayo Vallecano, Espanyol, Racing, etc. Those teams suck as a whole. The top European teams are way (wayyyy) ahead of South American teams, but I don't think the rest are better than 'our' teams at all. It's alright if you think otherwise though, we will never know for a certainty since they will never face each other .
