Why not put it on Steam like D4?
Guess it's back to GD for me...
Whats wrong with the blizzard launcher?
1. I don't need yet another launcher. 2. Blizzard is done for in my eyes. They haven't released a decent game in over a decade now and have been regularly fucking up all of their IPs.
I thought the same but if we are honest, Diablo 4 was actually a decent enough game. If it was called different and made by a different company it would have probably be even called a success story. Expectations and such...
My friend and I, who happily played through D3, D2, median patch, as well as other arpgs, bounced off D4 pretty hard. It seemed soulless and bad?
Obviously that's a shallow anecdote, but the two of us easily have 100 hours in each of D2 and Median Patch, likely 300+ hours in D3, 100 hours in Grim Dawn, and... 6-10 hours in D4? We talked about it after, and it never really grabbed either of us.
I'd classify Torchlight 2 as a 'decent enough arpg' because we at least got 20ish hours out of that one.

Obviously everyone feels differently. The people I have talked to in my personal enviroment have all about 40- 50'ish hours. Some more, some less. Thats about the time it took to complete the story, dabble some in the endgame and play around with different classes. Since bnet doesn't show playtime as far as I'm aware, these are guesstimates so maybe we are just completely wrong.

You havent played the last seasons of Diablo 4, have you?
Still not sure why there is such a massive problem having 2-3 launcher installed. With some ram installed you can even run them simultaneously! Its not having 50 games scattered around, its having 50 games in 2-3 places. Kinda like...you know..drawer system. Having to explain such basic logic sure feels odd.

I even redeem the games I buy on GOG on Steam to have them there. I don't need another UI to launch my games.

With around 6 hours of play, you can in fact conclude I haven't played multiple seasons. The season I did play was recent, around 4-5 months back?
I, too, enjoy having a drawer labelled "games", and then also another labelled "games" even though the "games" drawer was big enough. For funsies, I also made a couple extra drawers for games just in case I don't open enough drawers in one day.
I was not expecting the announcement to be this massive, sheesh a lot to unpack haha. Loot filters, grail tracker, currency stash tab, new class, jesus... Would've never expected D2R to see another update this size.
Absolutely wild! Gotta hand it to them. I was expecting one runeword some platitudes, but this is beyond my wildest expectations! O_O
That said; still not gonna engage with it because D2 is still ancient and has tons of annoying issues that are only fixed in mods (mercs dying and having insane rez fees, corpse retrieval, repairing gear, etc etc) and PoE 1 & 2 are just light years ahead, but this is still extremely cool none-the-less.
holy moly what a patch. is the entire patch dlc only or is it just the extra stash and character slots that are dlc? so glad that d2r is still getting this kind of love

' Pretty much the entire patch is DLC unfortunately AFAIK, but I think it's a pretty decent package for $25. Haven't bought it myself though, I was really hyped at first but I took a step back and will wait a day or two cause I didn't want to impulse buy it.
MrLlamaSC said that there'll be more updates to come, he knew about this DLC and even helped the devs work on it along with some other D2R streamers.

Well he did say "depending how this goes" and he also said the devs have a lot of ideas.
It is encouraging for sure, but the numbers won't lie and for sure will be the deciding factor.
The devs might have the most amazing ideas and passion, but if there is no budget because the warlock expo didnt sell well, probably 3.0 will be the last hurrah.
To me this feels like a good push to get back to d2r which, as an estimate, ive played for just about as much time as i had played the classic version so the value for money to me it is worth it given the number of hours played already and what might result from this.
turns out to be $40 aud so ill probably just wait for a sale to come around.
there will be more changes for sure though because apparently theyve disabled mosaic for the new ladder because they wanted to rework it.
it was absolutely busted but i liked it that way. i thought it was cool to have at least 1 build that could literally obliterate everything. hopefully they dont nerf it to death. id be ok with increasing the cost of the build though.

Ah yes that for sure. I was more referring to new classes or even act 6.
Regular ladders and the usual changes im still expecting.

i dont think well ever get an act 6, or a complete act 4. theres no way they add anything to d2r that impacts the lore simply because d3 and d4 exist.

Wouldn't any changes impact Diablo Immortal more since it is between D2 and D3?
