Also, please note that KotOR doesn't really play nice with newer computers, even the Steam version of KotOR. You will need to do some googling before you can get them to run on Vista/W7, but the trouble isn't that bad and the game is honestly worth it. And I don't mean to derail the thread, but it seems as if there are now Fan Favorites packs including many of the Star Wars games that didn't make it into the Best of PC pack. None of them have KotOR (hard to imagine that the KotORs aren't "fan favorites," but that is besides the point). If I do get the Fan Favorites pack, I'd have purchased my third copy of Star Wars: Battlefront. PS another thing I remember about the game is the HORRIFICALLY shallow and simplistic morality system and the 'set pieces' to determine your morality. And so does many other RPG games. While I do agree with the fact that the simplistic morality is a detriment, I have yet to find an RPG game where I felt like I had control over the dialogue AND the dialogue didn't boil down to "Click this option to be evil," and "Click this option to be good." Dialogue and morality often pains me in RPG games, so I wouldn't ding KotOR for failing in a process that many other games have failed at before. Until we can somehow express everything we want to say into the game without the filter of GUIs, selection boxes, and "dialogue wheels," then I doubt the morality system will ever get complex enough to satisfy everyone.

Technically, 'most' books written in the past 100 years were total failures. If you are talking about classic literature, then no, not by any stretch of imagination -.- PS anyone who likes jedis really should play any game from the Jedi Knight series. Insanely fun and simpler but you actually get to do lightsaber fighting and both 2 and 3 have extremely good flow to them.

Though tbh I didn't enjoy dragon age, or mass effect. I enjoyed obilvion somewhat. I guess 'm in the minority that don't enjoy most mainstream rpg games. Though tbh I love the mount and blade series. They are amazing. while on the topic of rpg's. any ones one might care to suggest ones other than the obivious kotor

I know it doesn't even come close to classic literature, but a video game (A medium not hailed for it's artistic value) has in fact beaten books at their own game in the past century. (Now there have obviously been some good books written in a century, I just like hyperbole)

Is it worth it for me to go searching for the sequel now? It's not on steam so it would be pretty inconvenient to get imo.

You should play Deus Ex, for sure... one of the games ever imoimo... even though it's probably closer to an FPS than an RPG. You can do almost whatever the fuck you want in that game, and the story will adapt to it. And the ending(s) are pure gold.

I have all 3 games and ave put in about 70 hours just on native alone for warband. about 15 for fire and sword. and countless on orignal mount and blade. Its an awesome mix of rts and rpg. combines both amazingly well imho.
