I would recommend this as well. There are so many mods out there and it makes installing extremely easy. I have about 7 mods on my Skyrim.
As for other games, I am going to be getting Bastion. What game are you guys voting for the next sale this batch? I already have mass effect but not sure about the others.

Why does the workshop suck?

I already got ME2 and I'm not interested in KOTOR, so I voted for Saints Row 3, even though I'm not sure if I'd buy it.

I'll vote for Saint Row the 3rd since that game is so stupidly fun

Honestly, I used a combination of the two....only used the Steam workshop for ones like "makes books you haven't read glow" For all the big texture packs and stuff, I just used Nexus... just seemed easier to me.
Kinda limited by the Sale this year. I need to save up to buy a new motherboard and video card so any newer games, I can't even play. Today I just picked up Thomas Was Alone and Antichamber. Good deals on both and have been looking at them for awhile.

Oh I should add to my comment--I meant to agree to the use of the nexus mod. I actually do not use Workshop to the point where I can say it sucks. So, not sure why the other poster said it sucked. But I just like the ease and usefulness of the modder (since it works with other games as well such as fallout, Xcom, Far Cry3, etc.).

I feed on your tears.

If your picking Dark Souls, remember that even if it's an amazing game ( my favorite in recent years ) you will need a 360 pad to enjoy it fully. There's a few fix to apply to the game to get it fully HD too, but it's quite easy. Just follow pcgamingwiki.com ( and use the website for everything else too, it's good shit! )

The only thing stopping me from picking up Endless Space is the description of combat that I've read here. What's your take on the combat?

To simplify, Steam has a nice interface that allows mod to be added and removed properly.
This way, people can make great mods and everything will work together...
LOL
In the big world of messy mods, the restrictions on Steam workshop are simply too big. Plus, there was already a big mod community that developped their own tools (namely SKSE) that allow much more things.
To make a bad analogy, let's suppose SC2 becomes moddable. People can create all sort of random things, modify the core engine, the way the game talks with the battle.net servers, etc... This is Skyrim mods.
However, for ease of use, Blizzard provides the Galaxy Editor that allows custom maps. That's great right? That's steam's workshop. But that's nowhere as powerful as the original mods.

Yup. If you are getting Dark Souls you need DsFix, a Xbox 360 controller (this is optional but using a keyboard and mouse feels really awkward), and a lot of patience. Absolutely worth it though, was one of the best gaming experiences I have had.

If one doesn't work with another, will the workshop notify me so? any answers?
As you start to add a lot of mods onto Elder Scrolls games, compatibility issues can arise. At least with Oblivion, it was the case that launchers were extremely helpful for controlling things like the load order and finding overlaps between mods.
afaik, perks of launchers are:
1) control over what is loaded when 2) some mods not available through steam 3) customization of mods

I've have almost 40 mods.
I voted for Mass Effect since it's the only one there I'm interested in, but I expect Saints' Row to win, alas.
Oh, and I also bought Bastion today. Probably the only one that I'll get today, unless ME2 somehow wins the community choice.

The only important mod is the grass mod. 5fps ftw.

Skyrim is really fun to look at, but I found the game boring. I'm not really an achievement hunter.

You can get it all for cheaper by getting the seasons pass if you have none of it (like me) since it too is 66% off ahah

Let me know how this goes. I read mixed reviews about the pc version, which is disappointing because I want to get it.

Problem is: Only 2 DLCs are good in the Season Pass. Why spend 10€ instead of 5€ for something thats not worth it?

How do you guys feel about bastion? Its only $2.25 for the next five hours and its always somewhat interested me.
