Also, be prepared to be utterly lost for at least a week. This game is moderately complicated and provides zero hand-holding.

Wandered around for 30 mins, died trying to swim (lmfao.) then respawned and "inherited" which was a bad idea and wandered around the island im stuck on because i cant swim, gave up after that..

Will play some more tomorrow and probably respawn but not inherit, that island sucks. Spoke to some guys in global about some random shit, they did warn me not to swim xD.
Does everyone elses client "lag" a little bit when you move? Or is that my 200ms causing it ?  Like i get pauses where its clear i get a lag spike, but the whole time its just jittery when i move around and stuff, even moving the UI boxes are laggy as hell

I'm not having that issue personally, except maybe on certain zoom positions. Maybe try scrolling your mouse wheel a bit?
Also, our village is done and soon our russian problems will be a thing of the past. You should think about joining our skype group in a bit.

Go to havenandhearth.com and make an account. Download Ender's Client (linked above) and log in. Add Jim Russel on skype... I forget his name, but look through the last few pages and it's listed somewhere. Once he logs on he will add you to our Skype group and we can invite you to the village. Until then, if you're new, just spend time wandering around and getting familiar with the game/reading guides/etc.
