Since I have basically the same question as him (any tips for starters^^): CS 10 years ago, some Q3 around that time as well (sometimes on LANs after that), after that only ET and lately (~half a year) some TF2 with RL friends. Class - probably all, I think I will focus on support when I'm with friends and assault/engi/recon if I play alone. My problem is I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of weapons. They all feel very similiar to me (well the standard groups assault / mg / pistol / sniper / shotgun / ...) and I'm wondering are they balanced or are some just "better". Also I'm interested in vehicles What's my fucking job, when I drive a tank / fly a jet / heli? Just flying/driving around and killing stuff seems not really benefitial to the team. (I assume buggys are just to get to points of the map faster). (I assume buggys are just to get to points of the map faster). Weapons right now are fairly similar. What i have read, there isn't many (or any) weapons that are far more powerful than others. Just use what ever you feel best, won't really matter. Except snipers.. Your job with the vehicles are pretty much destroying as much as you can, hold/defend "bombsite"/conquest flag. You should be shooting pretty much everything that moves with a tank. Helis pretty much the same but they are fantastic for picking out tanks. Jets are far more Air vs Air than helis, but you can still try to destroy vehicles and such with them too. You can't do much with air vehicles than clear the sky, possible ground vehicles and defend what you have to. General tips for someone who has a CoD/CS background would be to take it slower. You don't need to rush somewhere and just shoot while running - that won't work. Stay with your squad, help teammates by giving them supplies (medic, support), always use your RPG/other rocket launcher to destroy tanks/vehicles etc. And of course depending what game mode you play - do what you are supposed to do. Don't just sit in a hill and snipe there, cap/defend points/flags/bombs. As i said earlier, Medic is very good to start with. Easy, helpful and you get lots of points rather easily. But play whatever you like. | ||
