![]() The campaigns are extremely similar, but the mind blowing "wow" factor of MW 1 just isnt there, but I guess that cause super similar set pieces are less interesting the second time around. Don't get me wrong, it was a very playable and fun single player, but I won't be writing home about it (it ain't no DX HR)

All of us on Team Liquid may have our differences but its always nice how we get along the majority of the time. Here's to hoping we have as few scum bag outsiders as possible in the server (anyone remember Source server XD) and maybe we can even get some new people interested in our little home we have here. Just wanted to chime in, had a blast today on there, nice mappool, nice people, great stuff overall :D I'm pretty nooby still in the FPS world, but I had some nice runs today and don't feel as lost as I did yesterday. Here's to improving ![]() Also, I LOVE tanks ^^ they be awesome.

MP has been what battlefield is all about so i'm not worried.

My PC setup is way over the recommended gear and other people had similar issues and it was reported a lot (latest nvidia driver unstable with a variety of graphic card like the 560 Ti, and various game shutdown). I'm glad I tested it before I bought this game. I will never get another battlefield game, that's for sure.

Not only was joystiq and the other major reviews completely off in their judgement of the campaign, but it appears that they have their tounges so firmly up CoDs butt that they can no longer tell the difference between crap and gourmet. The campaign is a nice length, just long enough to cover all the fun aspects of multiplayer and teach you what to expect if you're new and still short enough to tell a good story without too much filler. I don't know what I was expected when I read "It's too linear blah blah". Infinite waves of respawning baddies does not make a good game. Having big maps that seem big but are in fact nothing surrounding a linear path giving the illusion of breadth has deluded many people into thinking a standard CoD campaign is any different from battlefield 3s. Yes, it's linear. but every enemy you kill is meaningful and better yet- your AI team mates actually help. In short, it's what I want out of a first person shooter campaign. Short, enjoyable with lots of pretty and compelling scenes and a tidy plot that doesn't spiral in and out of coherency. There are a few egregious errors however. First off, there are a lot of immersion breaking bugs. Press E to mount a turret? You can fire immediately after pressing the button even if you're yet to step up to it. Same thing goes for many in game cut scenes such as falling through a trains roof. You can fire, reload or whatever you please all while falling. I do hate when a game opts for realism and makes it feel like you're playing a 300lb fridge instead of a soldier but this does fall on the other end of the spectrum. My other major complaint is quick time events. Get them the fuck out. All they mean for me is dying then having to redo it once I know the appropriate sequence or better yet, tapping every button so I can continue playing. Pros:
The linear design is fun. You have a goal and a line to follow. It's a FPS and it only tries to be a FPS. It stays on point the entire game. It doesn't use the same tired cliches as a CoD game does. There's no Flight of the Valkyries as you ride in on a little bird or Credence Clearwater//The Animals song playing as you ride in. It feels like super reality, not an 80s action movie. Cons:
The impact visuals of weapons were pretty low. Had the sound not been so outstanding, it wouldn't have felt like I was actually shooting at all. Minimal destructible environments. Red faction had this down a decade ago. This should be the standard, not the exception. Overall I would say 8.7 out of 10. It was an awesome campaign and I very much enjoyed the 8 hours it took to complete. If you judge this game.. hell, any game by major review sites- prepare to be surprised. Reviewers are either terrible at video games or simply being paid to advertise certain games instead of giving honest opinions. Probe1 was paid the sum of 3 dinars for this review by DICE. Not really NOW it's time to be addicted to the awesome battlefield multiplayer we all love for the next 4 months :D :D :D Only time I ever died in quicktime was at the end in the train where I had to use Right Mouse Button. THAT really pissed me off Other than that I sort of agree with everything, I think the story was garbage but the missions were nice and action packed. Basically same thing as call of duty. I personally had fun and if I had fun in it then thats all that matters to me imo Also get back to work on the TL Hacker Database or get more people working on it thx thx

No one buys BF3 for the single player but it was no better than MW2/Black Ops. I don't think it's any reflection of the game itself.

I will get it in 6 months to year after price drops and it gets patched. Only very few games I buy at full price maybe skyrim after I see reviews. Because I'm having no issues and a good game = excitement thats why. I'll never understand how people can not be pumped for an awesome game like battlefield and wait 6 months to a year.
