It goes against what a lot of gamers believe in, but I will take a shooter on console over PC 100% of the time. RTS games, RPGs, and some other genres though.... absolutely PC all the way. The worst thing about this post for me is the Screen comment. I find it funny, each year people are buying bigger TV's, and each year they are sitting further away from them. My friends 40" HD plasma looks so crap compared to my 20" computer screen, simply because we have to sit so far away from it. And the mouse should only feel twitchy if you have a dirty rollerball or parkinsons. To me its like someone saying, Would you rather drive a transit van, or a bugatti veyron. Nearly every person would pick the veyron. I guess every now and again someone would say the van. When I play MW2, which I do every day, I sit roughly 3 feet away from my 50" television. I do it with every game actually. Being able to see the tiniest movement in the pixels works wonders on shooters. I feel like if I don't have to move my head to see elements of the game, I'm not close enough. So your reasoning with screens does not apply to me. As for the mouse, I find more sensitivity to be a negative thing. Shifting the position of your hand slightly to get more comfortable causes you to go from pointing ahead, to staring at the sky spinning in circles at 500 miles per hour. Maybe that's a little extreme, but yeah.... If I were a pro PC shooter player, I could see how it would be an awesome benefit. Although, MLG has shitty Black Ops on consoles, and I'm speculating with no information whatsoever, that they will pick up MW3 at some point. Even if they don't, I will be near the top of the leaderboards from day one. Although, to PC players, this will be like me being king of the retards. Oh well, I couldn't be happier with my console shooters at this point. lol u kno that ur going to be blind by 50 right?
Yes. I'm almost 29 and just started wearing glasses ~3 years ago. Previously, I had 20/20 vision. It's pretty obvious that gaming in general has fucked up my eyes. The decline in my sight has gone hand in hand with the amount of gaming I do. Shit sucks lol.

What? I don't think you understand how gaming on a large TV works... my picture is better quality on my 60" Plasma than it is on my 24" monitor. Don't think anyone said that. All I said (and one other guy at some point I think) was that console feels better than PC. No one said input was "better" (by this I'm assuming you mean better KDR). Not sure if its been mentioned since this thread is 219 pages long. But what do people think about even the slightest possibility for a dinosaur mode?
Started out as a joke from 4chan. Then Dice made a homage to the 4chan thread by having a dino toy in their trailer then later going as far out to tweet about the 4chan reference. Then battlefield heroes has a spot a dino event in celebration of battlefield 3 beta opening.
Clearly started out as a joke but man I wish there was a dino survival mode. CoD had zombie survival mode and "horde" modes are not too uncommon in FPS nowadays. It would be cool if BF3 shook it up and had a dino survival mode.

I find it strange that people prefer RPGs to be on PC. I prefer everything on the PC just because PC games are usually more versatile in terms of graphics, patches, mods, multiplayer, etc. I definitely prefer to use a 360 controller, though, for everything that allows me to, except for multiplayer competitive FPS, where I prefer my mouse. I just hate having to hunch over my keyboard and mouse all the time, so I use a controller on my PC when I can. It seems especially comfortable for RPGs. Maybe I just fail at posture.

I'm not even talking about who comes out on top. I'm talking about the quality of the input. I want to visualize something and then be able to make it happen in the game. For example, if I need to do a 180-degree turn in an instant and shoot someone behind me in order to survive, and I can't do it because the input instrument is holding me back, that's a feel issue to me. I know I have the skill to execute the shot (at least most of the time anyway), so it ruins the feel of the game when I am encumbered by my controls.

i like to use the xbox controller for story driven games with lots of walking around like witcher 2, metro 2033, bioshock, deus ex. it just feels better to lay back on the couch and also the rumble feature adds quite a bit to the immersion in my oppinion. i think every serious pc gamer should get an xbox controller as it is so cheap and with the current focus on console games and the optimization for the controller it is silly not to get one.

If simply changing your hand placement causes you to do a minimum of a full revolution then your sensitivity is WWAAAYYY too high. Although this is all just personal preference, the majority of good FPS players have it so from the middle of your mousemat to the complete edge of your mousemat is a 180 degree turn. Anymore than that is unnecessary.

So you're telling me you'd rather play at 30fps on a 60'' TV then 120fps on a 24'' monitor? Each to their own i guess 120fps would be if you're using a 120hz+ monitor and you have a baller ass GPU. You can attain 60FPS (supposedly) on MW3 for consoles. If you can tell the difference between 60 and 120 without having both side by side, then you are my hero. TL;DR 60" > any PC monitor. They wont have 60fps for MW3, because its still using the same outdated engine as MW2 and MW, and that was limited at 30fps. I do get 120fps on my 120hz monitor, and i can definitely tell the difference between 60>120. It's being advertised as having 60 FPS. “I don’t really know. I mean we really revamped this engine. We put a whole new audio system in and it is as competitive as anybody out there. You can go out and name your engine and call it whatever you want, right. You know, I’ve done that before; I’ve seen that trick and the bottom line is, this game will run at 60 frames a second. Not sure any of our competitors will. Not sure I’ve seen any of our competitors on the console especially running at 60 frames a second and I’d be a little scared at this point. In June if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60. And I think 60 is our competitive edge and you just don’t throw that away.” Time will tell. In terms of viewing pleasure, of course people are going to have their own preference, but I prefer my 600hz (blah blah sub field refresh I know) to any 120hz or 240hz tv/monitor. The motion looks odd to me. To each their own. Out of curiosity, what GPU(s) do you use? Hmm, last i heard they were still using the old engine, but if its been revamped good luck to them, i wont be playing it, but im sure there will be many people will enjoy it, which is ultimately what you need to do I run 2x580s in sli, on an AW2310 monitor. Sometimes it drops below 120, but not too often I see why you prefer PC. That's pretty fuckin' baller. Yeah, ive spent quite a bit of money on this stupid pc, better be worth it haha. I dont mind the odd game of blops with my brother on 360, but pc gaming is where its at for me. I can't imagine playing RPGs of any kind on a console myself. That's the one genre where graphics seem to help the game a lot. I don't know if Deus Ex qualifies as an RPG or a shooter, but I had to get that on PC rather than console. Well that depends on what kind of RPG we are talking about. I couldn't imagine playing a game like Baldur's Gate on console. Lol, I agree, absolutely! I got DAO for xbox first, and decided I didn't want to play a Baldur's style RPG on a controller. Picked it up for PC and didn't look back. Games like that just have to be played with a mouse, or else tactics just become way too clunky.

I agree with this, too. Mouse will always be my preferred input for competitive multiplayer FPS, but anything single player, story driven, or just chill multiplayer like Dead Island, 360 controller all the way. I forgot about the rumble, too. That really does add a nice touch that you don't get with mouse/keys.
I will probably end up playing BF3 single player on a controller (PC)

Agree with you on that KoaReal, although I haven't played on a controller in years and years. But that is also why I haven't played a single player in the same amount of time. It would feel weird to play story driven games on mouse and keyboard if you had like one of those controllers for PC. I have Amnesia and never finished it, maybe I should get a controller and try it out with that. :D

It never even crossed my mind to play it on a controller. It would just make it so much more appealing to play it comfortably like that. Thanks for mentioning that XD.
Also sorry for going so off-topic. Hopefully BF3 gets a new thread or its own sub-forum after its released.

Saw the actual TV trailer this morning and holy shit I was amazed they kept that same stupid song along with an overall bad trailer. Why o why didn't they just use only game-play footage to show off how sexy this game looks, with maybe a kick ass electronic song or something like Ludique. Maybe they were wanting it to like stick in peoples heads or something but damn that song is so bad.

Yeah that jayz song. Its a goofy song and even more goofy since it has to be edited for TV, its obvious that he's going to say "bitch" and having a song like that and then having to edit out basically the main line in that "verse" of the song, I don't see how that could help show the game off. Dice is a Swedish company, there is a lot of good electronic/trance style music that would have been really great if you added all first person multiplayer footage. No other FPS looks as good as BF3 and showing that third person stuff with a goofy old rap song just didn't do it for me.

Interesting. I'm pretty sure my comp won't handle this, even if i buy a 2nd graphics card and clock my CPU.
Trailer looked pretty decent.
