EDIT: Yes, be quick but don't be stupid. I keep running into people who expected BF3 to be this realistic shooter and are playing it accordingly. It is getting very frustrating when people play this game like ARMA 2

It is getting very frustrating when people play this game like ARMA 2 they dont play this game like ARMA2 they play it like they have spetsnaz training Also if this game was ARMA2 in some respects that wouldn't be that bad since snipers would actually take effort instead of 2 shots from that m16 sniper rifle thats unlocked automatically edit- Also I think a lot of people calling it realistic tactical shooter are just calling it that to indirectly hate on call of duty because all that game is is commando prO

For any of the guys here further down the support line, how are the M240B and M60E4? I tried out the PKP but did not enjoy it too much (M249 seemed a lot more accurate long range with burst fire), are those two better? Also, it's a shame you can't stick c4 on yourself ^^ the pkp is the best HMG in game IMO m240b has a slower rof than the m249 but i feel it does more damage

I've heard said that most people consider it the best support weapon though, I mean the damage on it is good so I can see why most people would think that :-) On October 04 2011 06:01 FagelBagel wrote: You can however strap C4 to the MAV and EOD bot. A buddy and I have successfully planted at the stations in the park by arming with the EOD bot, blowing C4 when the first defenders come to disarm and then we knock them off the defuse with the MAV. Hilarity ensues. Yeah I've seen those C4 EOD bot vids, they're hilarious ^^ I'm wondering though, can you stick C4 on teammates? For instance, stick one on the guy that goes in to make the fuse, and if he gets killed, blow up the opponents anyway with the c4 strapped to his corpse?

However, does anyone else has the issue of the game simply shutting down (like it would do if you pressed alt+F4?. It doesn't display an error message, it's like the game decided "Fuck you, I don't want you anymore!"

And I'm not saying that just to be a douche. Tho quite buggy, which is beyond me how they are going to manage this close to release, Battlefield 3 is amazing! Best part for me so far was seeing this guy in recon running around at full speed trying to stab people (CoD style), he had somewhere along 40 deaths and 1 kill. And there are these amazing moments I for some odd reason have only found in battlefield games. Dying from having a tree falling on you, for instance, or standing on the third floor, dodge a rocket, and suddenly be standing on the second floor. BUT, Origin is killing me. I'm not sure if its just me having trouble with it, but it refuses to cooperate with me. It has more bugs than Starship troopers, all the way from the thing crashing, to black dots covering my screen. It keeps random errors (and I mean random. Telling me it can't do something, and then proceed to do it, I get every time I click a button), and the whole thing just smacks of lowend programming. It keeps nagging on me to update my nvidia driver as well. But apparently, the newest nvidia driver isn't new enough..and then it proceeds to start the game anyways. The fact that the game has to be exited and started every time I want to join a server isn't optimal either, especially a buggy game like bf3. 1 out of 4 times I join a server, I have to just quit right away because of input lag..which wouldn't have happened if I didn't have to exit the game all the time! I was really planning on preordering it. But seeing this beta, I think I might wait a couple of weeks to see how things pan out. edit: When I say "origin", I mean the whole package. Including Battlelog

Sprinting any place is a good way to get killed, because in BF3 as in real life there is a huge huge huge defender's advantage. You need to move slowly, stay proned or crouched, use suppressing fire from LMGs or riflemen to your advantage. Move along lanes where your teammates are suppressing enemy return fire. Use grenades to check corners where there might be someone lurking. You have to understand that what you think is OP is actually a return to the way that games were for a long, long time. You're like the bronze leaguer, unable to see how to effectively combat strategies, and thus calling them overpowered. Once you spend more time playing, it will become easier. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I've been playing battlefield since the beginning when 1942 was released, and I've played every iteration of the series since then. It has never been like this, where two-three shots from an assault rifle will kill people. In fact, that is actually more along the lines of what COD is where twitch gameplay is revered. That's all high bullet damage encourages, where as requiring more bullets promotes strategic gameplay. BC2 damage was definitely way too low, seeing as how it literally took 10+ assault rifle rounds to drop someone. And no, I am not like a bronze leaguer. I constantly go 4k+ points a round and find it stupid easy to drop large groups of people just by exploiting map awareness and dropping on a flank. While it feels great to unload from hipfire and kill 5+ people, it's really unfair and skill-less. A happy medium would be between the damage now and BC2 damage. This is a video game, not real life. As I said, if you want the realism, go play hardcore.

I'm not happy about having to use battle-log and origin together with the client but the game itself feels very solid even on this old build if you look at the big picture. It's going to be nice on that first morning were all on big ass conquest maps, that will erase all this beta BS away. :D
