I've been waiting for BF3 for a long time... Bad Company is good, but it doesn't have the Battlefield feel. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. just curious, but would you define the "battlefield feel"? I think I know what you mean though: bad company 2 seemed heavier and has a somewhat more realistic feel to it than BF2 did, which felt more arcadey than BC2 (faster-paced, bigger, things like parachuting and stuff).

Recently upgraded the whole system though, and got a 560TI. This might be the first game to really push it, the new rig totally destroys Crysis II.

I personally love the weighted and clunky feel of BC2 since you felt like a solider compared to CoD, where it feels like you're floating.

I think Ace Combat is a perfect balance between arcade and sim - the mechanics would fit right into Battlefield. Ace Combat showed me that modern planes can be exciting to fly and have extremely fun dogfights online. BF2 flight combat mechanics were really quite bland in comparison. 1942 and DC were a lot more exciting purely because it was more difficult to be really good. It's probably the only thing BF2 was lacking in my opinion. I really hope BF3 multiplayer is going to be good and they don't dumb things down too much. I'm so freaking bored of corridor cover based single player FPS where you mow down hundreds of heavily scripted AI opponents that barely fight back. The campaign footage looks nice and does a good job of showing off the new engine but it doesn't look interesting to play in the slightest.

That distortion crap at the end of that trailer was terrible. + Show Spoiler + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0Tmydj29M That's the stuff. Hehe, the original Battlefield theme music really is much better then the one we're getting from Battlefield 3, but I belive that the "distortion" music in the Battlefield 3 trailers fits the game.

Aha, they should atleast have it somewhere in the game, could just be like "Extras" or something like that. I mean, if the Battlefield 1942 theme dosen't get you pumped up, nothing is!

the invention of gunpowder was a watershed The bombing of pearl harbor was a watershed 9-11 was a watershed The incremental release of a clone shooter = not a watershed. It looks exactly the same as all the other battlefield games that came before it. Now that doesn't mean it cant be good, but im just saying its way over hyped.

Not as overhyped as every single call of duty sense cod 4 lol. Also there are a lot of different stuff they are approaching, but we wanted a good sequal too Battlefield 2 not a cod clone or anything if we wanted the same shooter over and over we'd get that. This is actually going to be good (this is the first true successor in a battlefield game to have destructible environments no other shooters do that I mean look at cod its seriously the same game over and over for the past 5 years). At least bf3 is adding stuff or improving something. I mean too each his own but I don't see this game as being over hyped specially after all the hyping call of duty gets ^^.

Battlefield 3 being a watershed moment would mean it redefines the war shooter, which is probably unlikely.
