I'm wondering if steam activation will be recquiered as i bought a physical copy of the game. Not being able to play in case of internet down would really suck :X

steam activation is required and steam has an offline modus so you dont need internet all the time.

Thanks Skilledblob, then it's all fine i guess :D

Thing is that for offline mode to work, you must enable it online. This means that you can play offline only if you know when you are going offline. If interenet cuts out, and your steam was in online mode, you can't play

What? I haven't used steam for a year or two but when Internet got cut out, Steam put itself in offline mode automatically. I used to pull the cable since the net's always up here but it should be the same thing.
I found it unlikely that they've changed it.

Mail him and say you got other shit that day and if there is something you could read to catch up.

I'm sorry, I take everything I said back There was some misinformation, I just tried disconnecting and it works great in offline.

So I was just checking the perks and stuff again... Never realised it before but they removed athletics/acrobatics, so movementspeed is purely based on wether you wear light or heavy armor... That means mages are as fast as my thief. Thats fking lame tbh, I thought it was awesome to be superfast in oblivion

I'm pretty excited for Skyrim, but does it HAVE go through steam? My sister is buying a copy and I just planned on using that, but if it goes through steam that will be an issue.

Question everyone: Are you guys getting a physical copy or getting it from steam? I like having a physical copy, but I'm pretty sure you can play it sooner if you download it from steam...

you can probably play sooner when you get it via steam.
Shops open at 8 am and the post doesnt get delivered much sooner either when you ordered via amazon. But in steam you can start playing at 0:00pm when you managed to preload the game.
So yeah my plan is preload the game and then I will pull an allnighter

Exactly my plan it's released at 2 AM here in Holland, so Thursday after work I'll go get some sleep, wake up at 1 AM or something, play till I have to get to work again after which I took the entire week off so I can basically lock myself in and completely immerse myself in the game :D
Been looking forward to this week for so long. Sometimes it's just so good to be a nerd :D

(Un)Fortunately, I got my last midterm 11-11 from 9-12. So I'll install it on 10-11 so I can instantly play it 11-11 when I get home:p You CAN install it pre-launch yes? Just not authorize+play?

Argonian Archer/assassin here i come

Are steam games region-locked? I never used steam. If I buy skyrim and "activate" it in europe, will I be unable to use it elsewhere in the world? Because, if so, I will not buy it and everyone who does should be put at the stake.
