I played a long time ago back when it was insanely hard to level, but didn't play too much due to discouragement from slow leveling. Aside from the leveling not being as hard to do, do you think the game has improved overall? A few big things that really changed in my opinion: - You dont need to worry about buying equips til lvl 140, training until then is super fast. - Potentials are where all your damage comes from now (% stat). Scrolls barely matter. - Lots of new classes that are all improved versions of the old classes. I don't really see a point in making an explorer anymore. - Training past lvl 110 is the most boring thing in the world. Half the time it's faster to just leech off a high level character than train yourself. And, considering that it (LHC) is the fastest exp by far, there's not much choice in the matter. - Equip drop rates are noticeably higher, though I think they sell for less now? - 3rd job is now lvl 60 and 4th job is lvl 100. Not as much decisionmaking when it comes to skills, since they lowered the SP needed to max most of them. There's some good, some bad. I think the faster leveling is good, but the lack of diverse training areas sucks dick. The potential system also gives rich people / nx buyers like 20x the damage of an unfunded character, compared to maybe 2x the damage back in the old days. One thing that's nice is that they changed the crafting system to actually be useful--you can actually make money off of crafting. Ores can be mined instead of just hoping for drops from monsters now. There's a TON more party quests now, which is also cool (though most of them are still a waste of time if you're trying to level). | ||
