The chef/cook can. But they are random. I don't think it's a good option for aquiring dyes.

^chef can make dyes, but as said above, they are random. You can try your luck and hope for a rare dye. If you want lots of dyes, just trade laurels for them.

you can make dye thingy that give you rare dye for sure. But there's still plenty of rares dye that have no value at all.
And the resources for make them is pretty big.

To be honest, there are cheap dyes for pretty much every color. Like you might have one expensive light blue and 5 cheap ones which are close to identical. The only expensive ones which you can't really substitute are blacks and whites. Black is such a difficult color to come away with cheap, so you'd have to get either Black or Abyss (stay away from Midnight Fire, it makes the textures unrecognizable which is superugly). There are some Midnight dyes which are really dark, but you won't really get a black color, you WILL keep noticing the different hues. White and Celestial are also expensive and trying to fake it with other light dyes will be even worse than trying to fake blacks with Midnight dyes.

Worth noting is that some colors look different on cloth/leather/metal armor.

A useful tip straight from the wiki before spending any gold on dyes:

In addition you can use the item ID to link it in chat and preview by right clicking it there; on the wiki, this can be found in the dye's infobox.

I use midnight fire on my thief and it looks really black on most things. It's fine.
White is also kind of cheap, I got it for 12 golds. ( which is still quite a lot for a dye but heh, worth it )

My current character. Temple armor set with Exalted Mask headpiece. Abyss and White Gold dyes. It's a shame I can't dye the hairband :/ (Also Pink Quaggan backpack skin for the win!)

It's not as good as Black or Abyss, but looks fine.
It's only a bit weird on the pants, but those always get a weird color for some reason. ( Commando pants )

And yeah it's sPvP skins. I'm waiting for some improvement in bringing skins for pvp to pve, because my pve look is kind of bad lol.

Midnight dyes depend a lot on armor, some armor pieces will be more or less all black. The closest to white is probably frosting dye, but again, depends on armor.

There's been some DdoS on server apparently.

I play on Vizunah personally.
Usually not a big fan of playing on french servers, but I started here when I actually had friends who played the game.

Level areas are pretty empty in general. You will find some persons here and there but that's about it. Most people will level by leeching dungeons, farming champ trains or WvW (or maybe sPvP since not too long) if they don't craft (which got nerfed with the arrival of ascended shit).
Maybe you can look up Living Story open events as you may get scaled up for them (dunno, havn't played the LS for month's now).

watching some of the tournaments makes this game look like fun. I watch WoW arena and it looked fun in the past but I can never grind to max level before i want to kill myself.
Definitely reinstalling I gotta check more of this out

In WoW arena? they increase the level cap every 2 years and I'm not patient enough to dick around for 40 hours before I can start grinding viable equipment so I can start to be competitive.
