Granted I haven't had that experience recently (or in Guild Wars 2), but I've unknowingly joined an RP server in a different game before and it was not very fun for me to be surrounded by these players.

Yeah, don't know that thief is more involved than the rest. It's definitely crazy if you go the mega mobile route. But, I'm not ready to claim it's "harder" than the rest yet.
I'd probably put engi at the most involved class with the kits. You can't switch weapons in combat but you can take a ton of kit utility skills instead which give you way more options than the other classes. Rifle + mines, grenades, elixir gun, flame thrower, heal kit, etc.

i think i would have said something crazy like that (original post by jiyan) maybe 5 years ago when all i played was starcraft.
we accept that in starcraft we have, and benefit from having some fast hand-speed. there are other games and RL professions that *require* the same, if not moreso.
there are even players that acheive more than we can hope, without those crazy mechanics we usually see from pros.
so don't limit yourself to what seems like something you're most used to. you might be pleasantly surprised by a change of pace, or with a different role.

I will shoot myself if I accidentally log onto a RP server. I remember trolling people on a RP server when I use to play Asheron's Call. I want to talk about news, basketball, the presidential election and random other shit whenever I please without having to "ruin" someone's magical roleplaying.
With that said... I'm creating my character on the Black Gate server... I heard it will be highly populated and mainly PvP oriented... so I'll see you there!
