honestly though, you're right, with spain the current generation is more on a "neutral" level. in fact generally I guess spanish players are much better than portuguese or latin americans, but they're kinda mingled together in my head. that being said though, I definitely have the impression that spanish supporters are very.. accepting of diving and other types of cheating (attitude towards doping in general), even if the current generation of players is not so bad.

. Its just a part of culture it doesnt make it wrong. And the fact that they manage to do it also means you dont have to many Aaron Ramseys in Spain either.

And the fact that they manage to do it also means you dont have to many Aaron Ramseys in Spain either. no one has a problem with people going down when fouled, it's the embellishment of fouls to draw cards, the bullying/crowding of referees, time wasting and general gamesmanship that seems to be run of the mill in southern europe. "its just a part of the culture" is not an excuse for cheating. sorry. while we're on the topic, the entire culture of constantly whining about referees is incredibly childish, and it's sad to see such a large population of the football world fixated on it. i feel like we've had this discussion 7 or 8 times over the years on TL and i don't particularly feel like having it again, but i think that the european referees have been improving each year in properly calling fouls, giving cards for dangerous tackles and being resilient of attempts to trick them. referees obviously deserve more respect, more pay and technological aids. it is a ridiculous world where managers take out pieces of paper with lists of mistakes by referees compiled by people watching the game with 100 different viewpoints, where pundits watch a slow motion replay for the 4th time and then decide that the referee has made a "bad mistake" or is having a "bad game", yet we can't give them fucking goal-line cameras? it's truly a disgrace. in the face of all this, we have people promoting acceptance of cheating as "culture". it is a step in the completely wrong direction, and it is a mindset that is so damaging to football.

Well it comes from a lot of mindgames, constandly trying to intimidate the opponent without getting cards ore something. It is good to do it a few times, just to let them know they can't fk with you. But some players just do it all the time and it is really bad mannered. Like what gattusso is doing, ore other players.
