Of course, I'm eager to play this game as well, so I would not skip on getting an invite if I could.

July27th all the "main" people from the diablo3 fansites are going to the Blizzard "HQ" in Anaheim to test out the current beta/alpha. They can't talk for 5 days, ending August1st, giving one day for them to prepare articles for August2nd, which is a tuesday and Blizzard does everything on tuesdays.

They did the same thing the summer before SC2 beta came out, which didn't start until the next February. Granted the sc2 beta was delayed by their new b.net. I believe when they held a similar event for Cataclysm it was 2 weeks. However, I believe they have a conference call on August 3rd. They announced the sc2 beta date at a conference call, and I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to say they do the same thing with diablo 3. So my guess is they reveal the start date during that conference call (at least I hope cuz that's next week ![]()

The How Soon is Soon Part 4 article on diablofans.com, mentions a new Diablo book that popped up on Amazon, and then suddenly disappeared. With Blizzard wanting to keep the game's story a secret until release, it would seem that this book would have to be released near, during, or soon after the game's release. While the book was soon pulled off of the site, the release date given to those who pre-order the book was November 18 - 22. However, with the removal of the items, many customers contacted Amazon's support and one reply was: Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date: Deckard Cain "Diablo: the Eternal Conflict: The Illustrated Guide" Estimated arrival date: December 19 2011 Seems the book is still on Amazon.ca : here Ok so far so good, all information regarding launch date is just speculation. Now, at this years comic-con which happened this weekend, Blizzard had a panel regarding swag for their franchises and Chris Metzen (vice president of creative development at Blizzard Entertainment) was present to discuss some of the things. This is a direct quote from him regarding the said book titled "The Book of Cain": Chris Metzen: With any luck that book will pop around whenever the game comes around. I consider this a confirmation of the diablofans.com article speculation. You can watch a video of that panel here. The quote is at 13:55 If we corroborate all the information (assuming it is correct), we can conclude that D3 is currently planned to launch around December 19 2011. I'm pretty sure someone figured it out before me, but I wanted to bring this information to the attention of the TL community.
