I spent from 2001 to about 2004 religiously playing q3, and will always hold it in high regard. Its movement physics set the bar so high that it ruined all other competitive fps games for me. I’ve never found another games movement scheme that took mouse & kb finesse to such levels. It made the controls in other games feel just generic.

Unfortunately I just don’t have the time to play at a competitive level in qL, and I have a hard time approaching the game with casual mentality. I wish it all the best though, and I’m glad its getting such a strong second wind.

Someone decent-ish in duels should add me, MinoMino on QL as well. Been trying to get into duels, but the matchmaking seems to think I'm better than I actually am. I have practically no experience with duels except for like 25 duels with a friend who's pretty bad, but I'm 100/100 in CA, so I'd like to think decent in duels, but just need to get item timings down and all that stuff.

I guess I should just play my way down until the matchmaking gets it right, but playing with a TLer would be fun.

I check the dreamhack site and couldn't find any of the duels for 2010. Got some on youtube without the commentary which I kind of rely on because I'm new/bad/ignorant about the game.

Quake Games got this incredibly awesome "flow", but just after you learned the basics like movement(!!!), positioning, choosing weapons, timing items and so on... . But it is totally worth it. New school FPS tend to be damn casual in terms of skill ceiling and the gameflow is just one dimensional, no depth, but hey they look pretty \o/ ;>.
