Ohhhh man X17 guys are colossal faggots regardless of what game they play.
So I met this rando in a ranked game one day and we both carried our team to victory cool beans etc yea? Randomly out of the blue he invites me to ranked duo q today. We start playing, and hop on vent.

So our first game is interesting... he goes 0-5 as MF mid and is just downright failing up a storm, while yelling at our team for being retards, etc. (they were pretty dumb to be fair). Anyway i'm playing malzamanner so of course we win cause malz OP ya? My q partner eventually pulls together a decent score late game, and win take the win easily.
2nd game goes pretty bad. I play Sivir for lulz, and he picks galio. I take top lane after offering it to him and he declines. Once enemy morde shows up top, i ask to switch, since Morde > sivir like woah dey. We both have teleport. "Let's switch now before i get shat on and you get under-farmed" No dice.
So our entire team gets walked over pretty horridly. I'm 1-3-1 at the end, rest of team is like 0-4 on average. Pretty sad. He's raging at the whole team, myself included. I disc from vent and remove him from f-list, not thinking much of it, all the while he's telling me how badly I played and how i need to do better. Then the hilariousness starts.

Opinions on energy regen vs. energy runes on Kennen? I find I just really want to keep casting, so more energy to start with sounds good, but everyone seems to talk about the regen runes...?

Expensive and their effect is hard to notice, (imho at least). Even if you spam nothing but energy regen runes, you only get like a 10-15% increase in regen... which to me seems like nothing at all.
However from what I've been told, good Kennen players swear by them and consider energy runes manditory... so wtf do i know?

if it makes you feel better anytime I see any x17 player in my game ranked or normal regardless I troll the shit out of it. I've made x17 members resort to trying to look mannered to make people report me, 2 gud.

energy regen/level yellows make a big difference to your end game lasting power. at level 18, it's a 20% increase in your regen (from 50/5 to 60/5) and that frequently is what allows you to keep up with your CDs when you have CDR from blue elixir.
There also just isn't much in the way of other yellows that are appealing unless you want HP/level or Dodge or Armor, and frankly I like Energy Regen/level a lot more than negligible survivability (especially since I run 9/0/21).
That being said, they're expensive as hell and unless you're loaded on IP like me, there are probably wiser investments.
