Phys DPS Shen; he went 9/0/9 while I was playing Amumu (I went something like 7/2/13). Most people talking about how underwhelming Shen is I would have agreed with them before last night. I have never seen a Shen played so well...he was ganking like a pro, popping his ult to save people in need...he was exactly where he needed to be at just the right time. The taunt and Ult provide unparalleled map control. | ||

Translation: I haven't played with a competent galio. There are certain arguments that you can make, such as that he has some bad laning matchups (given that he requires a solo lane) like Vlad, but saying he can't actually tank his own ult is retarded. His ult is almost as ridiculous as Amumu's (slightly smaller range and the taunt is less effective than the root, but his trades that off for crazy damage, piled on especially if he takes Thornmail) and he lacks the actual positioning skill (Flash vs toss), but he farms so fast that right now he's the only tank in the game that farms fast and outputs huge burst damage while also having a nifty support spell (Bulwark on carry). Trying to argue that Shen is a better damage absorber and even taunter is laughable, and makes me wonder if you're being sarcastic, because that's mind-bogglingly stupid of a declaration, and if it were anyone else I'd have ignored the post and chalked it up to inexperience. If you honestly believe that Feint > Galio's ridiculous farming advantage over Shen you need to take a good look at yourself. I don't like Shen, and I agree with some posters before that you can list a good number of superior tanks. I wouldn't say he's un-viable because his taunt is still great, but he feels to me like a one-skill hero, kind of like pre-buff Kayle. The only Shen in a long time that's bothered me was DarkTerrorBlade's one and that guy bothers me with almost every hero he touches except his craptacular Kassadin. | ||

Haha...this is exactly how I tend to play Amumu...i rack up the assists/deaths while my team cleans up. If the other team comp is especially bad I can stack Sunfires/MR and survive ulting the whole team and even chase down stragglers with W/Rylai's/Sunfire damage. It makes me sad that I can't play Amumu in ranked anymore...how did people only discover him in lower ELO a few weeks ago? Gonna have to find a new tank.... | ||

Olaf - the other top-end melee DPS in the game, who jungles well and is retarded to kill because you just have to spam CDR+tank on him Notable mentions: Malphite - one of the best initiators in the game, + has burst AoE nuke damage Mordekaiser - 'cause some people say so, I still think he's underwhelming and worse than Shen Pantheon - if you build that way Tankplank - lane control + his ult Alistar - W spam destroys squishies in lanes and he's still the best DPS bodyguard in the game. Combined with his 1:1 AP ratios and he builds a lot like Sion except in more of a stay-back-and-knock-people-away role. He got phased out by the no-carry flavor of the year and now people kinda forgot about him. Nunu - he jungles really fast, buffs people, has a good gank cuz of the ranged snare, and forces people to CC him at least once | ||

galio is much, much better than shen for 1% of the game (when he uses his ult), and otherwise on par with him IMO amumu>galio>rammus>shen in terms of "tanks" but shen is more of a support hero than a true tank still, shen punishes bad players and players that make bad decisions, so he's a beast up to the 1400 level (where i found i was much, much less effective with him. not saying he can't be used at higher levels but i just wasn't as effective) | ||

Although Shen has some great synergies with many champions, for example, ulting to any stealthed champion who is chilling near someone who doesnt have oracles (perhaps still during the laning phase) and taunting them because they cant see shen porting in. His ganks are amazing in this case. He works well with anyone who has a global ult for back dooring or chasing enemy champions. | ||

The trouble is that Ki Strike's bonus damage is applied separately and before his autoattack damage. If the Ki Strike bonus is enough to kill the vorpal'd unit, the game doesn't count this as an auto attack and you won't proc the heal. Also, if you had the heal proc going when this happened, it'll be cancelled. | ||
